Chapter 752
Madeline:
I stared with my eyes wide open.
My body didn’t feel light.
It felt as though heavy weights were tied around my arms and legs.
Every time I tried to get up, I felt weak and wanted to lie back down.
At the same time, watching him walk around the dimly lit room with nothing but a
towel wrapped around his waist, his hair still wet and droplets of water clinging to his body, only convinced me that I was dreaming.
But why couldn’t I move?
Was I experiencing sleep paralysis?
“You woke up?”
The voice came from the man.
The man I couldn’t even bring myself to call Baxter because I was afraid.
He wasn’t.
He was dead.
I couldn’t fool myself.
He stood in front of the mirror and ran a hand through his wet hair before turning on
the blow dryer and drying it.
“You’re not real,” I whispered.
I noticed his movements slow down.
My eyes stayed fixed on his face through the mirror’s reflection.
His eyes shone beautifully.
His muscles, his abs, the tattoos covering his body, every detail was so vivid.
“Why? Were you expecting your other husband to be the President?” he asked, studying his reflection before tossing the brush aside, switching off the blow dryer, and turning to face me.
My breath hitched as I looked at the most handsome man in the world standing before me.
I forced myself onto my elbows until I was at least sitting upright.
It was so hard.
“Yeah, I know you’re not real. Because if you were ” I trailed off, closing my eyes.
“My Baxter would never say something like that.”
I had to steady my breathing.
“Why not? Didn’t you leave your Baxter to come to the human world and marry the President, keeping his children away from him?” he asked casually, the taunt clear in his voice.
Then he picked up a bottle of lotion and started rubbing it over his abs.
Through lowered brows, though, he kept watching my face.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
That was when it started to sink in.
The dream was becoming twisted.
“I need to wake up,” I muttered, trying to sit up, but my head became so dizzy that I immediately collapsed back onto the bed, lying flat again as I took deep, hea breaths. FindNovel.net
“We had to give you a relaxant. Your body was twitching a lot,” he explained.
“No, you didn’t give me a relaxant. This is just a dream. A dream the Moon Goddess
is using just to fuck with my emotions,” I insisted, staring at the ceiling.
Then I felt the bed shift, and my heart skipped a beat when he leaned over me.
I immediately panicked.
But he positioned himself so our bodies never touched.
His face hovered right above mine, blocking my view of the ceiling.
He supported himself on one elbow while raising his other hand to gently brush his fingertips against my cheek.
“Why do you keep saying it’s a
dream?” he asked, his fingertips gliding from my cheek down to my neck, sending goosebumps across my skin like I hadn’t felt since I lost him.

“Because-” I paused, turning my face to the other side. “Because you’re dead.”
The moment the words left my mouth, I broke down sobbing as I lay there.
Then I felt his lips against my cheek, and my breath hitched.
It felt so real.
His hand settled on my stomach as he continued trailing kisses along my cheek without lifting his lips.
As his lips reached my ear, he whispered in his husky voice, “Tell me, does a dead man feel this way?”
Then he pressed a kiss to my ear, his tongue slipping inside as it traced the curve of
it, then reaching my earlobe and gently sucking on it.
I felt like I would stop breathing at any moment.
I started to squirm on the bed, my hands still tethered to the sides.
They were curled into fists as they rested beside me.
He began moving his body ever so gently over mine, and I realized he was no longer wearing the towel.
As he pushed the blanket off me, I felt his hard cock brush against my thighs.
My eyes flew open, and I turned my face toward him.
That was when he lifted his face from my ear.
Now his eyes were locked onto mine.
“I don’t fucking care how much you
want to
run away or who you want

to be with,” he growled, his breath fanning across my lips. All I know is that you’re going to be mine forever.”
The breathes
He took a deep sexy breath.
“Just mine,” he whispered.
The way he said it felt so personal, so passionate.
Little did he know, that was exactly what I wanted too.
Before I could respond, he lowered himself and pressed his lips firmly against mine,
making my body melt into the soft mattress.
