Chapter 712
Sawyer:
Continuation Of Flashback:
As I walked over to the window, I knew I wouldn’t be able to write even if I tried.
I was too fucked up, both mentally and from the alcohol.
“What do you want me to write to her?” she asked.
I turned to her and looked her straight in the eye.
“Tell her she needs to come back home tomorrow. No more excuses.”
As I said those words, I looked at Nina and realized there was nothing she could do
to make me leave Madeline.
If anything, I would keep Madeline by my side.
I watched Nina hunched over the computer as she opened my emails.
Her face was to me, but then I saw her eyes widen.
A gasp escaped her lips.
“What is it?” I asked.
She looked up at me before shaking her head.
“Nothing, Your Highness. Nothing. I’m just trying to type the email,” she replied.
Then she looked back down and resumed typing.
Finally, she stepped away from the computer.
“It’s all done,” she said.
I noticed everything beginning to blur.
I didn’t know what was happening, but I couldn’t see anything clearly.
“What the fuck is going on?” I demanded.
“I’m so sorry, Sir, but I had to do it,” she muttered, making me grab the window frame for support as the glass slipped from my hand.
“Did you fucking put something in my drink?” I hissed, struggling to stay on my feet.
“You left me no choice. You fed me lies, so I had to feed you something.”
As soon as she said that, I tried to lunge at her, but my knees buckled, and I collapsed onto the floor.
“Please don’t hurt yourself,” she pleaded.
Then I heard the door open and her father walk inside.
I looked up and watched him stare at her.
“Did you give him the drugs?” he asked.
My heart lurched inside my chest.
It was then that I realized they had drugged me.
With what?
I had no idea.
I thought I could trust the old man, but of course I fucked up because, in the end, he was always going to choose his daughter.
“You know, Father, I received an email,” Nina said to him.
She was speaking to her father as if I couldn’t hear them, even though I could hear every word perfectly.
Her father tried to get closer to me, but every time he did, I swung my arms with all my strength.
I tried to crawl toward the phone, but they snatched it away every time.
I couldn’t even get my voice out to call for help.
Then I realized this had been inevitable.
When you are married and choose to bring a third person into your life, you are risking not only your own security and privacy but your wife’s as well.
I had done this to myself.
“Father, it was his wife, Madeline. She was asking for permission to marry her ex.”
The moment she said that, my fists clenched.
“What did you say to her?” her father asked.
I don’t know what happened, but by then, a loud ringing had started in my ears.
I could barely hear their conversation anymore.
Then I caught another fragment.
“I’m going to send her some old
pictures I made the guard take of us
together. Bring in the guards, the warriors who are on our side. And you need to prepare the wedding documents. If there is anyone I trust after the President, it is you. You will be the witness Besides everybody already knows about me, sono one will be shocked. Now do it quickly. We have to get him to sign them.”
I only heard bits and pieces.
Then there was silence.
I’m not sure how long I was unconscious before I woke up.
End Of Flashback.
“Sir, should I bring in Nina?”
One of the guards approached me and asked the question.
“Let her stay in the dark for now,” I replied.
Then I got to my feet and straightened my coat.
“I’m going to surprise my sweet
wife remarked, remembering everything that had happened before
I fell into the comemore
belongs
“What about the man they’re talking about?” one of the guards asked, mentioning
Baxter.
My fists clenched.
“Arrest him.”
That was all I said before walking out of the hospital room.
I was going to have a very sweet meeting with Nina.
Everything that had happened was because of her.
The fact that one of my daughters had ended up on a boat and crossed over into the human world proved only one thing.
My wife and my children had been wronged in the other world.
To be honest, the children were not mine.
I only cared about them because of Madeline.
But still, what was mine was supposed to remain mine.
By the time I got home, my guards had made sure Bruno and his daughter were
gone.
When I stepped inside, I was stunned by what I saw.
She had replaced everything.
All the furniture was new.
There were no longer any pictures of Madeline and me together.
Instead, every frame showed only her and me.
Either she had edited the old photos or replaced them entirely.
Even the bedroom was different.
It looked as though she had been sleeping in the bed I used to share with Madeline.
I was more than ready to confront her now.
This was going to be an amazing reunion.
She wanted me as her husband.
I’d show her exactly what kind of husband I could be.
