Chapter 804
Madeline:
The minute I heard that Baxter had his wolf and hadn’t even told me, I went through a lot of emotions.
I was happy at first. I mean, I was ecstatic.
To think he had gone through such terrible humiliation, and those people had
thought he would never recover from it, yet he got his wolf, his family, everything.
It meant a lot until the realization started to hit me.
His wolf must have his memories. Why wasn’t he helping Baxter?
Was it his wolf that didn’t want to be with me?
I mean, Baxter wouldn’t even talk about his wolf in front of me.
Or did Baxter not trust me with his wolf’s secrets?
Was it because his memories were gone and he just wasn’t sure if I was trustworthy?
The thoughts hit me hard.
I had waited for us to reunite, and now I was learning all these upsetting things. It
was killing me.
So I left the room to get some air and take a deep breath.
As I stepped out, I heard footsteps rushing toward the guest room.
And it struck me.
It was Nina.
Nina was doing what Nina did best, spying on me.
It reminded me of the old days when I was with Sawyer.
Even then, Nina would always wander outside our room.
But why now?
This time, it was Baxter, not Sawyer.
So what was she doing?
I was angry, and it seemed like I had found the perfect target to take my anger out
on.
She had kind of brought it upon herself.
So I stormed straight toward the guest room. I didn’t knock. I just barged in.
She was about to sit down but quickly got back up. It felt like we were meeting again after so long.
“What were you doing outside my bedroom door?” I demanded, folding my arms across my chest.
“Madeline. Oh my God, you’re back. How are you?”
I guess she thought nothing had happened between us since she left.
So she attempted to hug me, but I put my hand between us, stopping her.
“Cut it out, Niña. You were the one who sent me those emails. You drugged a man, put him in a coma and faked a marriage. Now tell me, what the fuck were you doing. outside my man’s our bedroom?”, pressed tapping my foot on the ground.
Nina smiled slightly.
guess this time she realized there was nothing else she could do but expose herself.
“Well, I came in to talk to your man, who is now the president and whose secretary I am.”
Nina was showing her true colors.
The way she spoke, moved her head, and placed a hand against her chest as she came toward me intimidatingly revealed her true self.
I gave her a smile and approached her, gently tucking her hair behind her ear.
Nina. Oh, sweet Nina. She shouldn’t test her luck too much.
“That, I saw.” I paused, withdrawing my hand only to wrap a few strands of her hair around my finger. “This is Baxter. I would kill for him. And I would kill him if he ever dared to even think about someone else.
As I said those words, I pulled her hair, yanking her head back before I released it.
As soon as I turned around to leave, I bumped into Baxter.
He had his arms folded across his chest as he leaned against the doorframe, a smile on his lips.
“Move,” I demanded.
He didn’t say anything. He just stepped aside and let me walk out.
I could have asked him what he was doing there, but he had seen me heading toward Nina’s room and followed me.
So he had come after me to see what I was going to talk to her about.
And well, now his ego and pride were on cloud nine because he had heard me threaten someone for him.
“I’m gonna win you back, you know?” Baxter called from behind me as I entered my children’s room.
Just as I was about to close the door, I stopped and showed him my middle finger.
He laughed and then bit his bottom lip before he started walking toward me.
I quickly tried to shut the door, but he planted his hand against it, pushing it open before coming inside and stepping in front of me.
“You don’t have to go around making threats. Just keep smiling at me, and I’ll pass away.”
I guess that was supposed to be very romantic, but talking about dying stirred
something in me, and he realized it too.
“Not in a bad way,” he clarified, frowning in confusion.
“Well, yeah. Nobody dies in a good way. Now please go back to your room because there are things you’ve hidden from me, and I’m really angry about them I retorted
as placed my hand on his chest and pushed him out of the room before shutting the door
There was one thing I was gonna do.
I was gonna go to the werewolf land and get my child back if they dared to try to
keep him there.
