“Now do you believe me?” Daniel asked.

My heart began to skip beats.

“I’m not bluffing with you. We’re not bluffing with you,” Daniel corrected himself,

giving me a weak, empathetic smile.

But I was still stuck on one question.

Where the fuck were the people I had come here with?

“Tell me everything,” I demanded.

The anger in my voice had faded because I needed to know exactly what had happened.

Why did he keep saying my children?

Did Sawyer somehow get Bodhi here as well?

I mean, humans had made deals with werewolves many times before.

Maybe he had already made a deal and somehow found Bodhi.

“Please, if you’ll sit down, I’ll tell you,” he requested.

This time, I didn’t argue.

I took a few slow steps to the side before sitting near the head of the bed, keeping a considerable distance between us.

“Where is my daughter?” I demanded, rising from the bed again.

“You will be reunited with your children after-” He paused. “after you go before the crowd with the President.”

My frown deepened at Daniel’s choice of words.

“He’s holding a conference to address his people about the recent events, and you know he wants his wife beside him. He specifically asked for you.”

Daniel continued, slowly explaining what the fuck was going on and what Sawyer’s mindset was at the moment.

“Did he forget to tell you that he let me rot in the werewolf land while he chose to marry my children’s nanny? You don’t know that, do you?” I asked with a smirk, scoffing at the thought that just because I was back, he thought he could have me back again.

“Those personal matters can be discussed between the two of you. For now, please, if you want to see your children soon, just come with me,” he urged, getting to his feet and walking toward the door.

“I want this anklet off,” I demanded, extending my leg.

“What are you doing? Go remove the anklet and give her the heels,” Daniel instructed the guard.

The guard hurried over, quickly unlocking the anklet before slipping a pair of black stiletto heels onto my feet.

I stepped into them and walked out the door with Daniel.
