“We will talk later. Don’t you see my children need to be at home and have a conversation with their mother first? “I almost snapped, but I steadied my voice.

I did not want to scare my children.

He looked at them and then nodded slowly, finally understanding that I needed time.

“All right. I will come by later, if that is okay,” when he said that, I did not respond. I focused on walking past him.

I had already texted my driver while I was in the meeting, when Eldon fuined everything, because I realized I would not be going home with him.

Luckily, the car pulled up at the right time. I focused on getting my children into the car.

My hands shook slightly, but I stayed calm enough to help them climb inside.

Only after closing the door behind them did I breathe out.

Graham still stood in the same spot watching us, waiting for something from me, but I had nothing to tell him.

I had nothing to give him. I was still shaken from everything that had happened.

It felt like these alphas decided to hurt me whenever they could.

“Mommy, why are you marrying Uncle Graham now?” he asked softly, and I could hear the complaint in his voice.

“You kids keep eating,” I told them while getting up to answer it.
