Chapter 707
Mathew:
Ron had called me and asked me to meet him. He said it was an emergency.
From the way he ended the call, I could already tell something bizarre had happened.
What I didn’t know was that it was far worse than I had imagined.
And now here I was, standing in front of a tied-up woman. Not just any woman, but Nala.
The little miss brat.
Her eyes narrowed at me, and I was terrified of her.
“What am I looking at?” I asked Ron almost immediately.
Ron looked like he was going through hell too. He didn’t seem confident about his decision.
“I had to,” was all he said, pointing at Nala, who raised an eyebrow.
Tape covered her mouth, and her hands were tied behind the chair.
She sat there without trying to scream, struggle, or protest, almost as if she was certain she would get out of here and that we were both going to pay for it.
“Open her mouth. I want to speak with her,” I insisted to Ron, who began shaking his head.
“No. She’ll start screaming,” he replied, and I slapped my forehead.
“We’re on the far side of the woods, in a small fucking cabin. Let’s just hear her out. Let’s talk to her. Maybe she’ll understand us,” I insisted again, and Ron finally nodded.
He walked over to remove the tape from her mouth, but before doing so, he turned to me.
“I need to explain my actions to you. I didn’t mean to abduct her. I’m only keeping her here so she doesn’t tell anyone. Then I’ll set her free once my mission is done,” he finished, and I nodded, trying to convince him I wasn’t judging him, when deep down, I was.
I was fucking scared shitless.
Because if Madeline found out, she would fucking ruin us too.
So, Ron uncovered her mouth. I expected her to scream.
I was ready to cover it again, but instead, she shocked me. She smiled very calmly.
Then she muttered, “I’m going to tell Madeline.”
Ron and I exchanged a glance before looking back at her.
“And I’m going to tell her exactly how you two brutally abducted me. Oh, you better believe I’ll tell her she has to pick your side or mine, because you fucking dared.”
She paused.
That was just her way of showing us how confidently annoying she was.
And also a little bit cute.
The way she sat there, pouting with one eyebrow raised, I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself.
“Listen, I did not do it to hurt you. I did it to silence you,” Ron tried to explain, but she shook her head dramatically.
“That is still abduction,” she muttered.
“Yeah, but it’s not like he’s keeping you here for the wrong reasons.”
I didn’t know why I spoke up because the way she looked at me was almost as if
she were calling me an idiot in a million different languages.
“So, is that how you men convince yourselves you’re right?” she chuckled, shaking
her head before calmly shrugging her shoulders.
“I’m gonna do it. Madeline is going to
be so upset with you two,” she
Qui
hissed, making me step forward to tell her exactly what we were planning.
“Listen, the thing is-“
As I started to speak, Ron placed his hand on my arm and gave me a reassuring nod.
“I’ve told her everything. Literally everything. How I want to turn Eugenia into a monster,” he explained, and I sighed, looking back at Nala.
She shrugged in response.
“I don’t fucking care. He wasn’t supposed to knock me out and put me in restraints. This is abduction And even if you convince Madeline that you were doing it for justice, what about me? What about justice for me she pouted, almost as if she desperately wanted to point at her own chest.
“What am I going to do with her now?” Ron asked, pointing at her.
Every time Ron grew anxious, she looked even more satisfied, and I didn’t know
why.
I just found her even more adorable.
“And you know, this is supposed to be the Rogue Princess.”
The moment Ron said that, Nala grunted.
“How fucking dare you? What do you mean by this is supposed to be’ am doing my job very well. My people are very happy with me I’m not t the one abducting someone and
betraying my friends.”
Nala spoke childishly before sticking out her tongue, making Ron clench his jaw.
“I’m not betraying my friends,” he defended himself.
“Ron, please calm down,” I said, eyeing him, silently urging him not to anger her.
“No, really, I’m not betraying my friends, Mathew. I just don’t know what to do. I’m fucking lost.” He let out a quiet cry, and I understood.
He was truly suffering.
“I lost my child. I lost my Luna. I couldn’t even get revenge for what they did to her.”
As he spoke, Nala and I exchanged a glance and noticed the smirk disappearing from her face.
“She was raped in her own mansion, Mathew. She was recorded and blackmailed.”
As Ron said those words, even I had nothing else to say.
He had every right to turn the entire werewolf land into a burning pit.
