Chapter 698
He trailed them to Ari’s school, where they dropped her off. Myron then drove Millie to her office, and Brandon spotted several people posted near the entrance, clearly keeping watch. There was no way he could get close.
The blare of a car horn sounded as his fist slammed into the steering wheel.
That day, Brandon didn’t show up at the company.
Eugene had already told the others to leave him be.
Even though the new product had successfully launched the day before, Eugene could tell something was definitely wrong. Brandon would never skip work at a time like this unless something serious had happened.
Millie’s day was packed from the moment she arrived at the office.
Charles was already waiting for her on a video call.
Not long after, Evans Entertainment released an official announcement, which she immediately shared on her social media.
Her personal concert was set for two weeks from now at Crobert Stadium. It would be a full two-hour performance, and ticket sales would open the following day.
The prices were reasonable, and the full setlist was already posted.
Every song on it was written by Millie herself.
The concert lineup included songs she had written under her real name, the pieces she composed during her Heavenly Melody days, Eva’s latest works, and several older tracks she had sold years ago but later obtained permission to perform from the buyers or music companies.
She also planned to debut a brand-new original track that night.
Vivian’s scandal had barely faded when Millie’s identity as the songwriter behind Eva’s name came to light. That revelation sent people searching through every song Eva had ever released.
Only then did the public discover that many of the most popular tracks they had heard over the years had actually been Eva’s creations.
She had been responsible for both the lyrics and the melodies of countless chart-toppers.
The news sparked an online frenzy.
“This list is incredible. Every single one is Millie’s work!”
“I had no idea she was this talented. I always assumed she leaned on Brandon’s influence, but between her music and Elliott Group’s recent projects, she’s clearly the real deal!”
“I’m done supporting Vivian. She tricked us, and now I’m going to Millie’s concert. The tickets are really affordable, too!”
By that evening, excitement had reached a fever pitch. Fans were setting alarms to make sure they could snag tickets the moment sales opened.
During a video conference, Charles smiled and said, “Public opinion is working in our favor. A lot of people are saying they want to come. We’ll have a clear picture of the numbers once tickets go on sale tomorrow.”
Millie agreed, though she kept her expectations in check. In her mind, selling even half the seats would be a big win for someone who wasn’t yet a household name.
Soon after the video call ended, Charles reached out to her again.
“Millie, Oakley’s making the moves we expected. I’ve got the proof we needed. Now, we just need the final link,” he remarked, his voice brimming with satisfaction.
