Inside, the atmosphere felt welcoming, scattered with all of Ari’s beloved toys and comforts. This was the ride she used most days. Once everyone was settled, the car pulled away from the curb.
Ari rummaged through a tiny fridge, pulled out a drink, and passed it to Millie. With a beaming smile, she opened a snack cabinet and offered Millie a treat as well. Clearly, Ari knew every nook and cranny of this car.
Watching Ari’s offering, Millie realized Ari must take this same vehicle to and from school. Sometimes it was Myron at the wheel; other days, Maggie or a different housekeeper would fill in.
