Chapter 856
Chapter 856:
Ari was having the time of her life. The house felt so alive with all these people around. She’d been hanging out with Jayceon most of the evening, and they just couldn’t stop talking.
Currently, they were completely absorbed in planning what new tricks they could teach the mansion’s chubby ragdoll cat.
They had their phones out, watching videos of pet influencers on social media. Some videos featured cats that seemed to actually dance on their hind legs, while others showcased incredible exercise wheels designed to harness a cat’s energy and generate enough electricity to power a tiny light bulb.
The ingenuity of it all left them both staring at the screens with wide-eyed wonder, like children discovering magic for the first time. Millie couldn’t help but smile as she watched their enthusiasm.
Their excitement was infectious, and even the ragdoll cat had become curious about what was capturing their attention. The fluffy creature poked its round head over the edge of the couch, trying to get a better view of the mysterious glowing rectangles.
“Meow!” The cat brushed its soft head against Millie’s hand, demanding attention. Millie scooped up the fluffy creature and gently scratched under its chin, earning a deep, satisfied purr in response.
Her gaze wandered toward the kitchen, where the sounds of chopping and sizzling drifted out along with mouthwatering aromas.
Earlier, she had genuinely offered to help with the cooking, but Giffard had gently but firmly refused her assistance, practically shooing her away from his domain. Now she could see him through the doorway, working smoothly alongside the Elliott Mansion’s experienced head cook.
“Do you think it’s too much work for Giffard to be cooking for us all?” Millie asked Alexia, who was now playing with the cat’s soft paws.
After all, as a doctor, Giffard’s hands were meant for healing people, not for kitchen work.

Alexia shook her head with a knowing smile and suddenly changed the subject. “I heard from Myron that there are koi fish swimming around somewhere in the courtyard p>
“Yes, there are,” Millie replied, slightly confused by the sudden shift in conversation. “They’re quite large and well-fed. Myron takes care of feeding them, though I’m not exactly sure what his method is p>
She gave the cat a gentle squeeze as she spoke, grinning mischievously. “Kind of like our chunky friend here p>
“Meow!” The cat seemed to understand the comment and let out an indignant protest.
“Okay, okay, Kiki isn’t fat at all. Our Kiki is the cutest cat in this whole world,” Millie said soothingly, stroking the cat’s fur.
Alexia laughed at the exchange and suggested they go outside to see the fish together.
Millie went to grab the fish food, but Myron had already anticipated her need and handed her the container.
“I’ll go out with Alexia for a few minutes,” she told him.
