Chapter 918
Chapter 918:
Millie held Ari’s hand tightly. Having Ari beside her felt like a blessing she never took for granted. Together, the three of them left the bakery, ready to head home.
From a distance, Brandon watched quietly from inside his car. His phone screen glowed with messages sent by Vivian’s caregiver earlier. She had reached out to many people, but she believed Brandon was her best shot. Therefore, she sent him more messages—sharper clues. Brandon’s grip on the phone tightened. What else was Vivian hiding?
That night, Millie couldn’t sleep. Only when dawn crept in did exhaustion win, pulling her into a brief nap. The hours crawled by until noon finally arrived—the time set to meet Vivian’s former caregiver.
At the cafe, Millie and Myron were startled to find Brandon already waiting. Millie bit her lip, stayed silent, and turned her eyes to a nearby woman, heavily disguised.
“Come with me. Quietly,” the woman whispered, her gaze darting nervously around the room before she led them to a private chamber.
Millie and Myron exchanged a look and followed. Brandon’s eyes darkened as he watched them move in perfect step, and then he followed as Eugene maneuvered his wheelchair forward.
When all were gathered, the caregiver shut the door and peeled off her mask.
“Tell me what you know,” Millie said, studying her with sharp caution. She knew too well this woman worked for Vivian, and trust would not come easily.
But the caregiver stayed silent, sweeping her eyes over the four of them. “First, prove I can trust you,” she demanded.
Millie and Myron each slid a document onto the table. Brandon motioned, and Eugene handed over one as well.
The caregiver skimmed them quickly. Her eyes lit up as she read.
Millie watched calmly, then said, “Now it’s your turn p>

The woman tucked the papers away, steadied her breath, and pulled out her phone. She opened the recorder.
“Before we begin, I have one more request,” she said.
“Let’s hear it,” Myron replied.
“I want you to escort me safely back to Flaville,” she said.
Millie frowned, her eyes narrowing on the woman’s face.
Understanding her doubt, the caregiver pressed play. “You’ll see why after listening p>
All eyes turned to the phone on the table. The audio had been trimmed, leaving only the damning words Vivian had spoken.
“Millie, that witch p>
“Don’t let Brandon hear this p>
“Damn Myron p>
“Don’t worry. Just follow my lead. I’ll shed some tears, and Brandon will cave p>
“When I become Brandon’s wife, Eugene will definitely suffer p>
“Why hasn’t Millie vanished already p>
One after another, venomous words filled the room. It was a flood of malice, completely at odds with the sweet image Vivian showed in public.
Millie’s and Myron’s faces stayed still; they had always known Vivian wasn’t as sweet and innocent as she appeared. But Brandon’s grew darker with every second. Eugene, also dragged through the mud, felt an icy shiver crawl down his spine. Vivian had always posed as gentle, weak, and harmless, even when her deeds raised doubts. Yet in private, she was harsh and vicious.
