Chapter 909
Chapter 909:
Inside, Millie was already sitting, shoulders taut.
Brandon rolled up beside her.
When he saw her reddened eyes, a deep ache twisted in his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice thick, his nose stinging as unshed tears blurred his vision.
Millie’s lashes lifted slowly, revealing eyes rimmed with hurt and simmering resentment.
She held his stare in silence.
“I want her to pay,” Millie said flatly.
“She will,” Brandon replied softly.
“No,” she snapped, her voice breaking. “I’ll do it myself. Now p>
Brandon didn’t respond immediately.
He looked at her, sorrow clouding his expression.
He hated seeing her driven to this edge.
“I’ll bring her here,” Brandon said, reaching for her hand, his touch trembling. “But you don’t need to stain your hands with this p>
Millie’s lips pressed tightly together.
She jerked her hand back and turned her face away, her expression like stone. If Vivian weren’t in his grasp right now, Millie wouldn’t even tolerate being in the same room with him.
Just remembering that day was enough to rip her open all over again.
Brandon’s hand hung in the air, his reddened eyes fixed on her profile.
“It’s my fault,” he said hoarsely.

Millie didn’t respond, and the room remained quiet.
Brandon’s fists curled in his lap.
“Millie,” he said, trying again, his voice breaking, “I never meant for what happened in the stairwell that day to occur.” His heart twisted as the memory returned.
It had been right after her car accident.
Back then, he hadn’t believed her.
Alexia had called him over and over, and when he came and saw Millie in the hospital, he thought she and Alexia were putting on an act.
Blinded by anger during the confrontation later, he pushed Millie down the stairs, never sparing her another glance.
Only now did he understand that it had been Vivian’s scheme all along.
Even that push had been orchestrated by her.
If he hadn’t let himself be provoked, would their child still be alive?
Could Millie ever forgive him?
His hatred for Vivian surged.
“Let’s put the past to rest. I have so much to tell you, Millie. Let me make amends. Let’s try again—let’s have another child,” Brandon said, pleading, desperation gripping him.
If Millie could believe that push was never truly his intention, maybe… just maybe… she could forgive him.
