Chapter 933
Chapter 933:
“She’s been taken quietly,” Eugene said, supporting him. “No one’s been alerted. She’s in a secure location p>
“Good.” Brandon’s voice was icy, his eyes hard with a frightening resolve. Vivian had hired someone to hurt Millie, had pushed her down the stairs, and had killed his child—all while pretending to be ill and deceiving him completely. His guilt for Millie was matched only by the hatred he now felt for Vivian.
“Take me to her,” he ordered.
“Yes, sir.” Eugene’s heart pounded as he wheeled Brandon toward the door. Relief flickered through him. If they hadn’t persisted in the hunt for Macauley, they might never have stumbled upon Vivian’s hiding place.
The rundown quarter teemed with criminals. Vivian had vanished into it, but fate had betrayed her. It came as a pleasant surprise when they’d found her. The explosive news over the past few days had made him utterly despise Vivian. That hatred only grew after hearing the recordings from the caregiver. Vivian even had evil plans to deal with him, too.
Brandon was loaded into the car, and the car carried them swiftly to a secluded villa. In its basement, Vivian’s voice echoed, sharp and furious.
“Let me out! Who are you? You can’t keep me here! This is illegal p>
Hunger had finally driven her outside her safe house earlier that day. Disguised with mask, hat, and coat, she thought she was safe. But she barely had time to unwrap her food before strangers seized her and dragged her away. At first she thought it was the police, but once brought here she knew better. She had suspects, but no certainty.
“Did you hear me?” she shouted, mind racing. “I know Brandon Watson! If he finds out, you’ll regret this! Let me out p>
A click sounded at the door. A guard opened it.

Vivian’s heart leapt, thinking her threat had worked. But soon, her face froze. A wheelchair rolled in. Brandon’s face emerged from the shadows, cold and unyielding.
Vivian froze in shock. She had only been tossing Brandon’s name around, assuming it was enough to scare people off. But now, here Brandon was—standing right before her.
Did that mean every one of these men worked for him?
Her thoughts tumbled over one another. Was he still holding onto what happened in the hospital stairwell? Did he still refuse to believe her side of the story?
Vivian forced herself to breathe slowly. The video only showed her glancing at Millie a few times. A scuffle broke out, and she happened to bump into Brandon’s arm. That was all. It could be explained as a mere accident. There was no real proof against her. If she cried, if she spun her words carefully, Brandon would let her go. With that thought, her nerves eased.
By then, Eugene had already ushered the others out. The door clicked shut. Brandon’s hands clamped so hard on the armrests that veins stood out. His eyes never left Vivian. He wanted to rip through her mask, tear past the sweet, beautiful surface, and uncover the darkness of her true, rotten self.
Before he could speak, Vivian burst into tears. She rushed forward, collapsing to her knees beside him. Tears poured down her cheeks.
“Brandon, you frightened me so badly. I thought it was happening all over again, just like last year p>
She banked on the memory softening his heart. But Brandon neither moved nor spoke. Her sobs filled the basement, echoing off the walls. Minutes dragged by. His silence made her wailing feel forced.
