Chapter 718
Chapter 718:
Charles let the words fade, yet Myron understood exactly what he meant.
“No,” Myron said firmly. “I’m telling you the truth—he didn’t succeed.” Brandon had left Millie shaken, her clothes rumpled, his own belt undone, but Myron had arrived in time to shove him away before things went too far.
That part, however, Charles didn’t need to hear. A long breath of relief escaped Charles.
“Thank God,” he muttered. “If it had gone any further, I can’t imagine what it would’ve done to her p>
Myron simply watched Charles in silence.
Even without Brandon crossing that final line, Millie had still been left in pieces. Neither man spoke as the car made its way toward the hospital. Brandon lay alone in the sterile hospital bed, the harsh scent of antiseptic thick in the air. He stared at the blank ceiling, the events from yesterday playing on an endless loop in his mind.
Millie’s shattered, helpless figure lingered in his thoughts. Jealousy had consumed him, and he had lost all control.
“Bang p>
The door slammed open.
Charles and Myron stood in the doorway, one radiating fury, the other carrying a coldness that felt deadly.
“Brandon!” Charles stormed forward, grabbing Brandon by the collar and driving punch after punch into his face and ribs. “You filthy, shameless bastard p>
Each word seemed to fuel Charles’s rage, and with every blow, the punches grew harder.
Myron remained still, shutting the door behind him and watching with a neutral expression as Charles continued to beat Brandon. Fresh blood seeped through the bandages that had just been applied.
Only yesterday, Myron had given his men orders to teach Brandon a harsh lesson.
His men had told him that even after Millie and Myron left, Brandon still attempted to stand and fight back, right up until they knocked him unconscious.

Myron had briefly considered involving the police, but the situation was complicated. The surveillance footage only showed Brandon forcing Millie into his car—nothing from inside the apartment, where the assault had taken place.
The marks on Millie’s wrists and the bite on her chest were tangible, but everything else came from her own panicked struggle.
Since Brandon hadn’t crossed the final line, there was no DNA to support a rape charge.
Even worse, anything connected to them always made sensational headlines, and if the media caught wind of it, they’d twist the story, causing Millie even more suffering.
That left Myron with only one choice. He would deal with Brandon himself.
By the time Charles’s fists finally stopped, Brandon lay sprawled across the bed like a broken doll.
Myron stepped forward. “I have something to say to him,” he said to Charles.
Charles gave a curt nod before stepping out and closing the door behind him.
Alone now, Myron’s gaze cut into Brandon like ice.
