Chapter 743
Chapter 743:
Before he could say more, Myron kicked him aside and rushed directly to Millie’s side. “Millie, don’t be afraid. I’m here now,” he said, lifting her gently, his voice filled with worry.
Millie’s gaze fixed on him, her panic still raw and unsettled.
“Don’t be afraid. This time isn’t like before,” Myron said softly, steadying her. “Look around—you’re surrounded by people who’ll protect you. And I’m here too. Brandon won’t be able to hurt you p>
“I never wanted to harm her!” Brandon said angrily, forcing himself upright with his men’s help. Watching Millie tremble, he frowned in bewilderment and muttered, “I only wanted to speak with her p>
But the words stuck in his throat. How had she fallen apart like this? How had she changed so much?
He just wanted to talk?
Myron’s eyes were cold as he sneered. He ignored Brandon and steadied Millie, preparing to take her away.
“You’re not leaving!” Brandon barked, his men circling to block their path. “Myron p>
“Get lost!” Myron snapped before he could finish.
For days, Myron had watched Millie’s heart slowly mend, bit by bit. He had been the one helping her climb out of despair. And now Brandon had appeared again, reopening her wounds and dragging her back into pain.
Myron wouldn’t stand by. He couldn’t bear to see her cry again.
His eyes darkened, filled with killing intent. He wanted nothing more than to end Brandon here.
But his fury only made Brandon’s anger burn hotter. “What right do you have to order me around?” Brandon growled, his jaw clenched tight.
“Because I’m Millie’s fiancé,” Myron shot back coldly. “And you mean nothing to her p>

“Myron!” Brandon snarled, his rage boiling over.
“Get lost, Brandon! Mark my words—I’ll make you pay!” Myron said, his arm around Millie as he led her forward.
Brandon couldn’t bear it; he lunged to stop them. But Myron shifted, shielding Millie before Brandon’s hand could touch her.
Instead of her shoulder, Brandon’s fingers caught the edge of her scarf, yanking it free from around her neck.
A faint cry slipped from Millie as she raised a hand to shield her neck, but Brandon caught sight of the marks anyway.
The scarf slipped loose, baring the scars that crept from her neck down toward her collarbone. From where he stood, Brandon saw how far the scars reached beneath her clothes.
Without hesitation, Myron wrapped Millie tighter in his arms to shield her from Brandon’s gaze. His jaw was set, eyes cold, as he took the scarf and quickly covered Millie’s neck again.
“Don’t worry, Millie. Let me help you,” Myron murmured, gently tying the scarf to hide the scars once more.
