Chapter 976
Chapter 976:
Macauley carefully avoided every security camera as he purchased some basic necessities.
Meanwhile, online, Vivian’s reputation was being completely destroyed because of her terrible actions.
Her criminal behavior had become so widely known that even her former PR team had published a public apology to Millie. There was absolutely no way to repair the damage.
As a result, many of her most devoted fans—the ones who had defended her most fiercely—were now the ones expressing the most anger and betrayal. They felt like fools for having believed in her.
More and more damaging details kept surfacing, one wave after another, which only increased the public’s sympathy for Millie.
“Vivian really was trying to completely destroy Millie’s life, wasn’t she p>
“Yeah, thank God the truth finally came out. Who knows what could have happened to Millie otherwise p>
“Hey, did you see the latest news? Millie and Myron’s mother went shopping together yesterday. I heard they’re getting along really well. Do you think Millie and Myron might actually get married soon p>
“I don’t know, but it’s possible p>
“What about Brandon, though? What’s going to happen to him? I saw him in some interview earlier, and he looked absolutely broken p>
“Honestly, who cares what happens to him at this point p>
Macauley sipped his carton of milk while scrolling through these online comments.
About thirty minutes passed, and he tried calling Vivian’s number again. Still no answer. And she didn’t reply to his message either.
This seemed very strange to Macauley. Even if she was trying to be cautious and avoiding phone calls, she could have at least sent him a message.
𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲:
He looked in the direction of their hiding place.
He needed to find some way to check on her safely.
Meanwhile, Vivian’s phone was currently in Brandon’s possession.
He had been watching the screen light up repeatedly as message after message came through from the same unknown number. It didn’t take long for him to piece together what was happening.
“Make sure your people are positioned around that safe house,” Brandon instructed Eugene. “He’ll probably try to go back and look for Vivian soon p>
“Understood, sir!” Eugene nodded quickly. Their surveillance team had been keeping constant watch on that apartment.
Eugene felt the pressure weighing on his shoulders. He knew that if they failed to catch Macauley, all of their lives would be in danger—including his own.
Even though Brandon had recently given him a generous raise and several bonuses for jobs well done, he couldn’t shake the feeling that his job security depended entirely on the success of this operation.
With that, Eugene rushed off to get things done.
The room was left with only Brandon inside.
He wheeled his chair over to the large window and gazed out at the bright moon hanging in the clear night sky. The moonlight cast everything in silver, making the world look peaceful despite all the chaos swirling around them.
