Chapter 860
Chapter 860:
A call from inside the house broke the moment, summoning them to dinner. Together, they carried the cat back toward the door.
Just before stepping inside, Alexia had a mischievous idea. Leaning in, she whispered something into Millie’s ear.
Millie’s cheeks turned crimson at once.
“Alexia!” she cried, clutching Alexia’s arm in mock protest.
Alexia burst out laughing, darting inside and ducking behind Giffard for cover. Their laughter echoed through the air, bright and full of life.
Meanwhile, the ragdoll cat silently returned to Ari and Jayceon, its eyes studying them with quiet interest. They were busy adjusting the cat’s exercise wheel, testing it out. Whenever boredom struck, the ragdoll always loved to sprint on the wheel.
“Meow p>
The cat gave a soft cry, as if to remind them of its presence.
Just then, Myron came out holding a slender tube, and the doorbell rang, causing the butler to head toward the entrance.
Egbert appeared soon after, a bag dangling from his hand. He spotted Ari and Jayceon working on the wheel and wandered over to help. After much adjusting, the wheel was finally turned into a small generator, powered entirely by the cat’s motion.
Adriana dangled a cat teaser wand in front of the fluffy creature to coax it forward.
“Meow p>
Reluctantly, the plump ragdoll began to run.
The tiny light wired to the generator flickered to life, glowing steadily as the cat picked up speed.
Amusement spread among them as they watched the scene unfold.
Something clicked in Egbert’s mind, and he reached into his bag, pulling out a wooden fox he had whittled himself. Recently, he had carved out the center, transforming it into a hollow fox. He slipped it onto the light tube, and the fit was seamless. As the glow shone through, the walls lit up with the silhouette of a grand fox.

“Perfect!” Seville quickly snapped a photo, while Sheridan laughed, shielding Alexia from Millie’s playful tickles. The moment felt nothing short of magical.
The evening carried a gentle beauty.
When it was time to eat, everyone gathered around the table. Millie tasted one of the dishes and froze instantly. The flavor was unmistakable. It carried the same touch as the “chef” from Alexia’s family. But tonight, the cooking had been done by Giffard alongside the Elliott Mansion’s house chef.
Her puzzled eyes drifted to Giffard.
“How is it?” he asked warmly. “I made that one p>
The realization struck Millie. Without lifting her gaze, she brought the fork back to her mouth and took another bite.
“It’s wonderful,” Millie said softly.
Only then did she understand it had always been Giffard who cooked for her while she stayed in the hospital. The Hussain family’s so-called celebrated chef was none other than him. By choosing to cook openly here in Elliott Mansion, he had shown he had truly moved forward.
