Chapter 992
Chapter 992:
He understood exactly what Napier was implying with that pointed comment. Originally, Brandon and Millie had been married and appeared to be deeply in love with each other. But it had been Brandon himself who had completely destroyed that precious relationship through his own terrible choices and behavior.
Now, everyone throughout Crobert was well aware that after her divorce from Brandon, Millie had chosen to build a new life with Myron Elliott.
“I have to admit though, I didn’t expect you and your wife to attend tonight’s celebration,” Napier continued with a subtle hint of sarcasm in his tone. “I thought p>
“You might prefer to avoid any situations where you’d have to see members of the Elliott family or Millie from now on p>
Norma spoke up for the first time in the conversation. “That’s not necessarily the case at all p>
“Oh, really?” Napier cast a particularly significant look at both of them.

She took a sip of the cool liquid and smiled at him with pure affection.
“It’s time,” she said softly.

Meanwhile, outside the building, a sleek black Maybach glided to a silent stop at the curb.
Brandon sat rigid in his wheelchair as Eugene carefully pushed him toward the entrance of the hall. His jaw was set with grim determination.
Those guests who spotted him along the way were clearly taken aback by his unexpected appearance. Shocked whispers began spreading through the crowd.
However, since the interior lights had already been dimmed for Millie’s upcoming speech, no one dared to create a scene by shouting. Instead, people leaned toward each other and spoke in hushed, urgent whispers.
Babette walked closely beside Brandon’s wheelchair, listening intently to the murmured conversations around them. She let out a soft snort of disdain at what she was hearing.
When they reached the entrance checkpoint, Brandon was required to sign the guest registry like everyone else. Millie’s assistant immediately recognized him and stepped forward with obvious concern.
“Mr. Watson, Miss Bennett specifically instructed me to tell you that it would be best if you stay away tonight,” the assistant said politely but firmly. “She asked me to make it clear that this is her final warning about this matter p>
