Chapter 734
Chapter 734:
They drove toward the kindergarten.
When the car halted, Myron turned to her. “Millie, are you ready?” he asked gently. Outside, the street buzzed with noise, parents speaking and children laughing; the sounds came muffled through the glass.
Millie inhaled deeply and nodded.
She had already made her choice; she would face what lay ahead.
Hiding would never make the problem disappear.
“We’ll do this together,” Myron assured her, his hand holding hers firmly. Millie looked up, and in his eyes she saw nothing but warmth and quiet admiration.
“Okay,” she whispered back.
The three of them stepped out and walked toward the entrance of the kindergarten.
The area was bustling, and Millie moved carefully, one steady step at a time. As they walked, they came closer to the very spot Brandon had once taken her by force.
Meanwhile, at a corner far from Millie’s line of sight, a wheelchair was being pushed forward.
Seated in it was Brandon.
His eyes followed the small family heading toward the school.
For days, he had longed to see her. But Myron had been relentless, never giving him a chance to get close.
Each time Brandon approached Elliott Mansion, security was sent to force him back.
So he had taken to waiting near the kindergarten instead.
He yearned for Millie, needed the reassurance of seeing her with his own eyes to quiet the unrest in his chest.
Now, at last, she was before him again, though only from a distance. Yet he didn’t feel peaceful. She looked unwell.

Despite the sweltering heat, she wore long sleeves and wrapped a scarf tightly around her neck.
Her frame had grown thinner.
The bit of weight she had regained recently had slipped away once more. Her face was pale, her body fragile.
Brandon’s lips parted slightly as if to call out her name, to rush closer and speak to her.
But the words never left him.
He stayed where he was, silently watching.
On the opposite side, Millie approached the side street where she was abducted, her chest tightening as the memories of that day surged back, vivid and sharp. A gentle squeeze around her hand drew her gaze to Myron’s deep, dark eyes, and for reasons she couldn’t explain, that sight soothed her.
Ari hopped playfully at her side, tugging on Millie’s free hand and leading her away from the side street as if conquering a challenge.
Millie lowered her eyes to the child, who greeted her with a radiant smile. Ari knew nothing of the tangled pain between adults, yet she sensed Millie’s struggles and, in her own innocent way, was helping her take a step forward. Heat prickled behind Millie’s eyes as she crouched, cradling Ari’s face tenderly, her chest tightening with love and sorrow.
