Chapter 932
Chapter 932:
Morning light barely reached the room where Vivian sat picking at her breakfast. The curtains were drawn tight, sealing the place in a stale, heavy gloom. It wasn’t much of a home. Her ally had holed up there for weeks without stepping outside, and the air carried a faint, unpleasant stench.
Vivian checked her phone. Johnny still hadn’t answered any of her messages. Her ally hadn’t returned, and she hadn’t left the safe house. Her breakfast was little more than scraps he had brought back yesterday. In the humid weather, the food had already begun to spoil.
She kept scrolling through the phone her ally had left behind, only to see her reputation in ruins. Without Johnny to manage the damage, her fan base was in chaos. Only a handful of loyal followers remained.
Vivian forced down another bite of the day-old sandwich. The sour taste turned her stomach. “Ugh…” She gagged and flung the sandwich aside, her face twisted with disgust. A wave of anger surged through her. Even her own skin smelled faintly of sour sweat. This couldn’t go on. She had to do something.
Meanwhile, Brandon had shifted much of his work to his apartment, which sat conveniently close to Watson Group headquarters. From there he could handle urgent company matters while a medical team remained on standby should his condition worsen. Now, while healthcare staff carried out their routine checks, Brandon sat with his eyes glued to his computer screen, where new messages kept popping up.
In the early hours, Eugene had arrived in haste.
“Mr. Watson, we’ve finally tracked Macauley,” Eugene announced, barely containing his excitement. “He’s in Crobert, but he’s wary. He spotted our men and slipped away. We’re searching the area p>
Macauley, once head of procurement for Watson Group, had betrayed Brandon in a way that could never be forgiven. He was then fired. Former colleagues only knew Macauley had returned to his hometown after being fired, but in truth he had been under house arrest. Months ago he vanished without a trace, and the guards Brandon assigned to watch him concealed the disappearance and didn’t report it until weeks later. The feud between Macauley and Brandon now ran too deep to mend.
Macauley was now in Crobert. He knew the city well. There was a chance he might be planning an attack on Brandon. Eugene had spent the night coordinating the search. No one could predict what a desperate man like Macauley might attempt. Still, there was no word of success yet.

Brandon’s brow furrowed. Had Macauley slipped away again?
The doorbell suddenly rang sharply. He pressed the intercom and saw Eugene standing outside, forehead beaded with sweat. Brandon opened the door, and Eugene hurried in.
“Mr. Watson, we just received news…” Eugene paused mid-sentence, glancing at the medical team.
Brandon dismissed them with a nod. When they were gone, his gaze sharpened. “What is it? Did you find Macauley p>
Eugene wiped his brow and shook his head. “He knows that area well. It’s crowded with maze-like alleys. We couldn’t pin him down just yet. But p>
He drew a steadying breath. “I had men stationed there, quietly combing through the area. And that was when we found Vivian p>
Brandon jerked as if struck. He tried to rise, but pain forced him back. Ignoring it, he ground out, “Where is she p>
