Chapter 1002
Chapter 1002:
“Speaking of which, I wonder what Brandon’s reaction was when he found out about Millie and Myron’s upcoming wedding tonight p>
“Who knows? I’d love to be a fly on the wall if he completely loses his mind and crashes their wedding ceremony, haha p>
It was very late by the time Millie and Myron finally made it back to the Elliott Mansion.
The car ride home had been mostly quiet, with both of them lost in their own thoughts about the evening’s events.
Millie was feeling drained from all the emotional confrontations and the pressure of making such an important public announcement.
Myron could see how tired she was, so he gently pulled her closer and let her rest her head against his shoulder for the remainder of the drive.
When their car pulled up to the entrance gates of the Elliott Mansion, the driver suddenly sat up straighter and peered through the windshield. “Mr. Elliott, Miss Bennett, it looks like there’s someone waiting by the front gates p>
Millie looked through the window and immediately recognized the figure standing in the shadows. It was Leda Harris, the single mother who owned the small bakery.
“Please stop the car,” Millie requested immediately, already reaching for the door handle. She stepped out and walked quickly over to where Leda was waiting.
The moment Leda saw Millie approaching, she hurried forward to meet her halfway.
“Leda, what’s wrong?” Millie asked, immediately concerned by the woman’s appearance.
Leda’s eyes were red and swollen from crying, and she looked like she was barely holding herself together.
She was clutching a small paper bag tightly in her hands. As Millie watched, she opened the bag with trembling fingers and carefully pulled out a small box from inside.

“Miss Bennett!” Leda’s face lit up with pure joy. “I came here tonight specifically because I had to thank you properly p>
Her hands were shaking slightly as she carefully held out the small box toward Millie.
“I wanted to bring you this gift to show you how grateful I am for everything you’ve done,” Leda said, using her free hand to quickly wipe away the tears gathering in the corners of her eyes.
Millie accepted the box with gentle care and lifted the lid to reveal several beautifully decorated pastries nestled inside, each one clearly made with love and attention to detail.
“Being a single mother trying to run a small business has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Leda continued, her voice trembling with emotion. “But ever since you started coming to my little shop, everything has changed for the better. Not only did your company place that big order with us, but several other businesses heard about it and decided to try our pastries too. For the first time in years, we actually have a steady, reliable income p>
Her smile was so genuine and heartfelt that it made Millie’s own eyes start to water.
“I remembered how much you seemed to enjoy the pastries when you visited last time, so I spent all afternoon making these special ones just for you,” Leda explained proudly. “There’s also something else — a completely new recipe I’ve been working on. I really hope you’ll like them p>
