The craftsmanship was honestly impressive—far better than the prototypes Foley had shown off at the exhibition.
Foley ran through several more demonstrations, and Jessica handled every task perfectly.
After they’d talked a bit more, the group said their goodbyes to Foley and left the conference room.
Foley had to move on to welcome his next batch of visitors, so the three of them headed out together.
When they reached an empty hallway, Jace came to a stop first. “So what’s your take on all this?” Jace asked, looking between Millie and Anika.
Millie thought back to everything she’d just witnessed and chose her words carefully. “They definitely know what they’re doing p>
Anika bobbed her head in agreement. “True. Even with all the crowds here today, you can’t deny the products look solid p>
Jace added his own thoughts. “Sounds like we’re all on the same page. The only annoying part was dealing with all those people, but the technology itself seems legit p>
Millie’s eyes drifted back toward the conference room where Foley was already guiding another group inside.
Foley caught her looking and glanced up, giving her a friendly nod and smile.
Millie returned the gesture with a small nod of her own.
She walked alongside Jace and Anika as they made their exit. Jace kept analyzing what they’d seen, but Millie only caught bits and pieces of what he was saying. Her mind kept wandering as she glanced into the offices they passed.
Everyone inside appeared completely absorbed in their work, and more visitors kept streaming past them, going the opposite direction.

Finally, they pushed through the doors and emerged into the fresh air outside.
“What’s your next move going to be?” Jace asked once they’d stopped outside the building.
Anika took a moment to think before responding. “I’m really just here representing my father. I’ll go back and talk to him, and whatever happens next is going to be his call to make.” She turned toward Millie. “How about you? What are you thinking p>
Millie didn’t jump to answer right away. She mulled it over while feeling both of them watching her expectantly. Finally, she spoke. “I’m interested in moving forward with this, but I think I still need more time to decide. What about you p>

Jace gave his approval. “I’m impressed. Did you see how smoothly Jessica served me that coffee? The whole thing worked beautifully p>
Both Millie and Anika agreed with quiet nods.
They chatted for another minute or two before heading off in different directions.
Millie didn’t go very far, though. She moved off to the side and stayed put, keeping watch.
Soon enough, Taylor came running up to her, struggling to catch her breath.
“Millie!” Taylor huffed, her chest heaving.
“Slow down and breathe for a second,” Millie told her gently.
