Chapter 1050
Chapter 1050:
Millie and Myron remained together in the privacy of her office. While she worked through her final checks, Myron entered quietly and settled himself beside her on the sofa.
“You must be exhausted,” Myron said softly, concern evident in his gentle tone.
“I’m managing,” Millie replied, letting herself lean against his solid shoulder for support.
He chose not to press her further with questions. He simply sat there in comfortable silence, offering his presence as comfort.
After flipping through the final page of documents spread before her, Millie set them aside with a satisfied sigh.
Through the massive floor-to-ceiling window, she watched the sun making its gradual ascent into the morning sky.
With her head still resting on Myron’s shoulder, she felt a profound sense of peace wash over her tired mind.
Within just a few moments, exhaustion claimed her, and she drifted off to sleep.
When Myron felt her hand go limp against his, he glanced down to find that her breathing had become slow and even. She had fallen asleep right there against him.

“Is that the situation?” Babette’s eyes took on a gleam of malicious amusement. “Such a massive financial risk is involved? No wonder they didn’t dare approach the p>
Watson Group directly and chose to present at that public exhibition instead.” She laughed with genuine delight before asking, “Does Millie have any idea about the real situation p>
“Almost certainly not,” the other person responded. “Our people checked on them throughout the night. The lights at JM Investments stayed on until dawn. They’re clearly scrambling to meet some kind of deadline, probably still hoping to secure a partnership with Yaroslav Technology p>
Babette immediately sprang to her feet and began pacing energetically around her spacious room.
This was perfect. A hugely risky project that she herself would never touch with a ten-foot pole, yet Millie was apparently prepared to stake everything on it. Clearly, she was even borrowing money from Myron to make it happen. Once the truth inevitably came to light, everyone would see crystal clear who possessed real business acumen.
Not only would Egbert finally recognize that she was superior to Millie in every way, but Myron and even Brandon would witness firsthand that Millie was nothing more than a pretty face with no real substance beneath.
