“He even pulled up the text message on his phone to show me,” Taylor continued, looking directly at Millie. “I read it myself. The message told him to bunch the less important visitors into groups so Foley could spend more time with the major players p>
Important people like Jace and Anika probably figured out what was happening. They seemed to grasp the situation.
Normally, a company would likely just refuse appointments from anyone who wasn’t considered important enough. But Foley had taken a different approach—he’d told his staff to cluster the smaller fish together instead.

Without Jace and Anika beside her this time, she could pay closer attention to the details around her.
She made another complete circuit through the massive display hall and then pushed deeper into the restricted areas. She walked past office after office without stopping, keeping her pace steady and natural like any other curious visitor. She wandered through the research and development section and then slipped into the women’s restroom. She locked herself in a stall and sat down to wait.
She lost track of how long she’d been sitting there when she finally heard two women enter, talking while they washed their hands at the sinks.
