Chapter 1037
Chapter 1037:
“Yeah p>
Their conversation ended, and they soon left.
Millie stayed where she was for a while longer.
More people came and went, but their conversations were disappointingly bland. It seemed like word had gotten around to keep your mouth shut.
Eventually, Millie emerged from the restroom. She walked out with the same calm, unhurried pace she’d used coming in.
But as she passed by the research and development area, she used the corner of her eye to catch a glimpse of someone typing commands into a computer system.
Millie gave a quick glance and then turned away.
She went back to the car and waited until Taylor returned.
“Millie…” Taylor began, eager to speak.
Millie lifted her hand slightly. “Let’s head back first p>
Taylor nodded, and the car soon rolled onto the road.
After a short silence, Millie asked, “How did it go p>
Taylor answered right away. “Exactly as you predicted. The follow-up events are odd. I p>
The car was heading toward JM Investments as Taylor gave her full report.
Millie listened carefully, nodding as her assistant spoke.
By the time she finished, they had arrived at the JM Investments building and went back to the office.
Millie pondered over Yaroslav Technology’s sudden rise. A theory was already forming in her mind when a knock at the door pulled her out of her thoughts.
She looked up to see Myron at the door with a lunch bag in hand.

Millie smiled softly.
He came in, setting the bag on her desk.
“What brings you here?” she asked, remembering she had texted him about her visit to Yaroslav Technology.
“I had a friend heading there and saw you go in. I did the math and figured you’d be back by now,” Myron replied.
He opened the lunch bag and neatly arranged the food he brought.
Millie took a seat across from him.
“What’s your take on it?” Myron asked.
“I think something’s off about Yaroslav Technology,” she admitted.
“And?” he urged gently.
“They’re strange,” Millie said, pondering. “Their presentations, their setup—everything looks real, though. They actually seem capable. So it just doesn’t add up p>
Normally, real skill meant genuine strength. She couldn’t understand why they acted so secretive.
“So what’s your move? Play it safe, or take the risk?” Myron asked calmly.
Millie shook her head.
“I’m not a gambler,” she said, meeting his eyes. “But I can’t walk away just yet. I need to dig deeper before making any decision.” If things proved too risky, she’d let it go.
