Chapter 1045
Chapter 1045:
“You done?” Alexia asked. “That was quick p>
Millie nodded. “Hey, can you help me look into someone when you have a moment p>
“Sure,” Alexia said, looping her arm through Millie’s. “But only if you’re paying for the spa p>
Millie laughed. “I wasn’t planning to let you pay anyway p>
Together, they headed out of the hospital.
That night, at 11 PM, news broke that Yaroslav Technology had landed a huge overseas order.
The timing made sense abroad since it was during working hours, but at home, it was strange, especially with their big financing conference set for 10 AM the next morning. Phones started ringing non-stop. The story spread like wildfire.
Millie heard the news while at the Blue Lounge with Alexia.
After their facial, Alexia had wanted a drink, so Millie went along.
“I’ve already sent someone to verify the news the moment we received it,” Taylor said over the phone. “The team’s working overtime. We’ll have a new plan ready by morning p>
Millie replied, “Thank you. Once things settle, everyone gets a bonus and some time off p>
Taylor went back to work, and Millie glanced at the dance floor below.
Alexia was laughing and dancing.
Millie thought it was about time to leave. But as she stepped out of the private room, she froze—meeting a pair of familiar eyes.
“Millie?” Darden called first.

She nodded politely, planning to walk away.
He gestured for his friends to go on ahead, then followed her toward the stairwell.
“Do you need something?” she asked.
“I’d like to talk,” he said quietly.
Millie looked around.
“Brandon’s not here,” Darden added, guessing her concern.
She turned back to him. “What is it that you want to talk about p>
“Brandon regrets everything,” Darden said after a pause. “He’s been struggling. Could you… visit him sometime? Maybe give him another chance p>
Millie’s brow creased slightly as shadows from the overhead lights played across Darden’s face.
She’d never felt particularly strongly about Darden one way or the other. He’d always just been part of Brandon’s circle, someone who existed on the periphery of her life. But now, hearing him speak these words changed everything.
“Darden.” Millie took a moment to gather her thoughts before continuing, “You and Brandon have been close friends for years, so I know you’ve witnessed everything that’s happened between us recently. I understand that your loyalty naturally lies with him, but I need you to hear me clearly—there’s absolutely no possibility of me going back p>
She met his eyes directly, making sure he understood the finality of her words.
“You should introduce him to new people. Help him build fresh connections. Eventually, he’ll move forward with his life. Someone special will come along who can share their future with him and make him genuinely happy.” She paused, then added softly, “That person just won’t be me p>
