Chapter 849
Jordyn nodded. “Okay, Mom. I know.”
With that, Jordyn left with Hannah.
After finishing dinner, Celeste chatted with Matthias about some company matters for a while before returning to her room.
When she got back, Jordyn was taking a shower.
Celeste had only just sat down when the phone Jordyn had left on the bed started ringing.
It was Trevor.
Celeste didn’t answer. Instead, she gestured for Hannah to pick up.
Hannah gave a wry smile. “Jo doesn’t want to answer Mr. Fleming’s calls right now, and she doesn’t want me answering them for her either. If she wants to talk to him, she’ll call him back after she finishes her shower.”
Celeste hadn’t known about any of this.
Trevor had custody of Jordyn, and Celeste didn’t feel it was appropriate for her to interfere too much in how the father and daughter got along.
Hearing this, and remembering how unhappy Jordyn had seemed that day, she asked, “Did they have a fight?”
“…Yes.”
In fact, ever since Philip’s banquet, Trevor and Jordyn hadn’t truly made up. And Jordyn hadn’t genuinely been happy either.
Hannah looked at Celeste, wanting to say something about it. But Trevor was Jordyn’s father. He had certainly noticed it long ago.
If even he hadn’t told Celeste about it, Hannah didn’t feel it was her place to overstep. Besides, she could tell that Jordyn didn’t want her telling Celeste any of this.
If she really did, Jordyn might actually get angry with her. And when Jordyn got angry these days, she could be quite frightening.
Since it wasn’t appropriate for her to ask too much about what was going on between the father and daughter, Celeste didn’t pursue the matter even after learning that they’d had a fight.
Seeing that she wasn’t asking anything else, Hannah sighed. She understood Celeste’s reasoning, but Jordyn was still so young after all.
Just then, Jordyn came out of the bathroom after finishing her shower. Seeing Celeste, she smiled. “Mom, you’re back.”
Celeste hummed in acknowledgement.
Hannah also told Jordyn that Trevor had called. But there was no particular expression on Jordyn’s face.
“Okay.”
Although she acknowledged it, she showed no intention of calling him back. Celeste asked, “Is there anywhere you want to go? I can take you.” Jordyn nodded.
“Where do you want to go? We could go to a hot spring, a water park, or head downstairs to the orchard.”
“Let’s go to the orchard. There are a lot of stars tonight. I want to sit on the grass and look at them.”
“Okay.”
Celeste then took Jordyn’s hand and walked out with her.
Kieran was still downstairs.
When he saw them coming down, he smiled and walked over. “Heading to the orchard? A few of our
coworkers went over there!.!
too
don’t you join them? It’he more lively.”
Celeste looked at Jordyn. “What do you think, Jo?”
She knew Jordyn wasn’t shy around
strangers, but she hadn’t been ma mood, so she w

Jordyn said, “I just want to walk around for a while.” “Okay.”
The moment Celeste finished speaking, Kieran looked at Jordyn. Then he bent down to her level and sard gently, I heard that you like building blocks. I specifically had someone bring you a limited-edition set. How about I go upstairs and get it for you now?”
Jordyn looked at Kieran, then at Celeste.
Celeste naturally knew why Kieran was trying to win Jordyn over.
She was just about to say something when Kieran said, “I’ll go get it now.”
Before she could respond, he turned around and went upstairs.
Celeste just stood there and squeezed Jordyn’s hand. “Come on. Let’s head up the hill first.”
Jordyn said nothing, her little lips pressed into a slight pout.
