Chapter 1031
Chapter 1031:
Even though she’d already mentioned yesterday that she’d be visiting Yaroslav Technology this morning, she felt it was considerate to send him another reminder.
The sheer number of cars in the lot suggested this would take much longer than anticipated.
Taylor sat in the passenger seat, staring out at the seemingly endless line of vehicles waiting to park. Her frustration was clearly mounting.
“What on earth is going on here? Why are there so many people?” She rummaged through her bag to find her tablet, her movements sharp with irritation. “I definitely confirmed an appointment with someone from Yaroslav Technology yesterday! This doesn’t make any sense p>
Millie surveyed the sea of expensive cars filling every available inch of the parking area.
“Perhaps everyone else received appointments for the same time slot as well,” Millie observed calmly.
Taylor’s frustration only grew at this suggestion. “If they don’t have the capacity to handle this many visitors, they shouldn’t have agreed to meet with all of us in the first place! Why extend invitations to everyone if they can’t properly accommodate anyone p>
Listening to Taylor’s complaints, Millie allowed herself a small, knowing smile.
She’d already formed a strong suspicion that Foley, the head of Yaroslav Technology, had orchestrated this chaotic situation quite deliberately.
However, she hadn’t yet figured out what his ultimate goal might be.
“Let’s focus on finding somewhere to park first,” Millie suggested practically.
Taylor nodded her agreement, and their driver, who also served as their personal bodyguard, began navigating through the crowded lot again and finally secured an available spot. As soon as they stepped out of their vehicle, Millie’s attention was caught by a car she recognized immediately.
She asked Taylor to wait for a moment and walked over to investigate.

“I have no idea what game he’s playing, setting up specific appointment times and then inviting half the city to show up!” A voice drifted from inside the familiar car, one that Millie knew well.
She smiled to herself and rapped her knuckles lightly against the car window.
The tinted window slid down smoothly, and Millie greeted the occupant with genuine warmth. “Mr. Armstrong, what an unexpected surprise! I didn’t expect to run into you here.” This was Jace Armstrong, the grandson of Adah Armstrong, who had attended the grand opening celebration of JM Investments not long ago.
When Jace spotted Millie standing outside his car, his face broke into a cheerful grin. He immediately climbed out of the car, gave an exaggerated shrug, and asked, “Don’t tell me you’re here for the same reason I am, Miss Bennett p>
Millie saw no point in being coy about her purpose. She nodded openly.
“What are the odds of that!” Jace laughed, clearly finding the situation amusing. “I just spotted Anika Stewart a few minutes ago. Looks like she got lured into this circus, too p>
“Is that so?” Millie responded, glancing back toward Taylor with a meaningful look.
Together with their respective assistants, Millie and Jace began making their way toward the building’s entrance.
“I honestly thought she’d follow her father’s path into public and private equity management rather than getting involved in this sort of venture capital opportunity,” Millie commented conversationally.
