Chapter 728

Trevor didn’t tell Celeste that he had read all the papers she published and that she deserved the awards.

He simply shifted the conversation to topics related to Jordyn after congratulating her.

That day, Celeste got into her car and left after spending some time with Jordyn.

Jordyn watched the direction Celeste’s car disappeared in while sitting in Trevor’s car. She looked like she wanted to say something.

Trevor noticed and asked, “What’s wrong? Did you forget to tell your mom something?”

Jordyn shook her head. “Not really. I just wonder when Mom will finally be done with her work and move back home.”

Right now, she could only go to the Rodriguez residence whenever she wanted and return home to accompany Trevor. She actually thought that this arrangement wasn’t bad.

But even so, she still really wanted her mom to move back home.

It was just that Celeste always had too much going on and kept saying it wasn’t convenient to move back.

Hearing this, Trevor only replied, “You can ask her directly next time if you want to know.”

Jordyn said, “I know.”

But if Celeste couldn’t give her the answer she wanted, then it was basically pointless to ask anyway.

The next day, Matthias’s phone rang after Celeste returned to YodaVision and had just finished a meeting with him.

He answered the phone.

No one knew who the caller was, but Matthias suddenly stopped walking, raised a brow, and glanced at Celeste before smiling.

“Oh, it’s Ms. Lackspur. What a pleasure. May I know what prompted you to contact me so suddenly?”

No one knew what was said on the other end, but the sarcasm in Matthias’s eyes became more obvious.

“A collaboration project? Ms. Larkspur, you must be joking. I’ve heard that you looked down on YodaVision. Why the sudden interest in working with us now?”

Celeste also stopped walking after hearing this.

After listening to the response on the other end, Matthias glanced at Celeste again before continuing, “It’s certainly our honor if you are willing to collaborate with us. However, most of our projects are currently being handled by Ms. Rodriguez. So, if you want to work with us, perhaps you should first contact her.”

He then smiled. “I still have some matters to attend to, so I need to go now.”

Matthias then added, “Do you need our company’s contact number? Do you need me to give you the number?”

On the other end, Narcissa naturally understood the hidden meaning behind Matthias’s words.

Her expression darkened slightly.

However, she could only laugh awkwardly and say, “I do have the number. There’s no need to trouble you, Mr. Yoder.”

After that, Narcissa hung up.

Matthias looked at Celeste once the call ended.

“You should know who that was, right?”

Celested hummed a response.

Matthias said,

“I heard their project

ran into some problems. They’re currently stuck on a technical bottleneck. The team they hired has been working on it for quite a while, but their project timeline is tight, so…”

Celeste immediately understood.

Matthias still had other matters to deal with. So, he left after saying that.

Celeste returned to her office and handled work for a while before Candice knocked and came in.

“Ms. Lackspur is here. She’s downstairs right now and says she wants to discuss a collaboration.”

Candice knew that Celeste and Narcissa’s previous meeting hadn’t gone well. So, she asked, “Should I bring her up?”

Celeste replied calmly, “No need. I don’t want to see her again, and our company won’t be collaborating with her either.”

Candice nodded. “Understood.”

At the lobby, when Narcissa heard from the front desk that Celeste wasn’t in, her expression turned rather ugly.
