Lilian looked at Wynn. “Wynn, what about Trevor…?”

Wynn gave the same answer as before. “I know. I’ll get in touch with him.”

Lilian nodded and said nothing more.

She had always considered herself fairly good at handling men and understanding how they thought. Yet, ever since Philip’s banquet, Trevor’s reactions had been completely beyond her expectations. Even she had lost her bearings.

After breakfast, Wynn went to the office.

With InnovaTech’s projects constantly running into obstacles, she was already overwhelmed. She was in the middle of discussing something with a colleague when Linda called.

“Wynn, Trev is back from his business trip! He just attended Fleming Group’s product launch. I saw the video of the event.”

Wynn paused before answering, “Alright. I know.”

After hanging up, she went online to check and found that Linda was telling the truth.

Trevor had been seated in the audience, and the camera had occasionally caught him on screen. He looked as composed as ever, as though nothing that had happened since Philip’s banquet had affected him in the slightest.

Wynn closed the video before picking up her phone and calling him.

Once. Twice. Three times. The call eventually ended automatically, but Trevor didn’t

answer.

A moment later, she tried again. However, he still didn’t pick up.

So, Wynn called Jacob instead.

When he saw her name on the screen, he hesitated before answering. “Ms. Locket.”

“I saw the video of the product launch. Could you tell me where Trevor will be having lunch?”

Jacob answered, “I’m sorry.”

Wynn continued, “Will Trevor be returning to Fleming Group this afternoon?”

This time, Jacob answered honestly. “I don’t know.”

Hearing that, Wynn didn’t ask anything else. “Thank you.”

She hung up after that.

That afternoon, she drove to the Fleming Group. As before, no one stopped her from entering. This time, the first person she saw was Jacob.

He wasn’t surprised to see her. He simply told her the truth. “The boss isn’t here.”

“He hasn’t been back all afternoon?”

“Yes.”

Wynn stopped in her tracks. She had previously thought that if she kept waiting at the Fleming Group, Trevor would eventually sotten. But reality had made one thing clear-he wouldn’t.

Jacob asked, “Would you like to sit in the reception room for a while?”

“No.”

Wynn put her mask back on and turned to leave. As she walked out, she also saw Zeke.

Like Jacob, Zeke didn’t seem surprised to see her.

After leaving the Fleming Group, Wynn didn’t return to InnovaTech. Instead, she drove somewhere else and waited for a while after arriving.
