Michael emphasized , “ Well , Mommy is Mommy ! ”
Christian was rendered speechless by his response . “ Kid , I mean , what’s your mom’s name ? ”
“ Mister , why do you want to know Mommy’s name ? What are you up to ? ” Michael probed warily .
Christian stated , “ You’ve got it wrong . I’m not a bad person . I’m just asking because Mr. Lynn said he doesn’t have any kids . There’s no need for a DNA test . ”
With his hands on his hips , Michael voiced , “ But if we do the test , he can be my dad , right ? That’s what Google says . ”
Christian mused , ‘ This kid probably doesn’t even know what a DNA test is . ‘
Just then , Michael’s kiddie phone rang . The boy answered it .
“ Mike , where did you run off to ? ” Sherry’s voice came .
Christian took the phone from Michael . “ Hello , are you his mom ? Your son is at the entrance of Horizonlead Group’s lobby . Can you please come pick him up ? ”
There was silence on Sherry’s end for a few seconds before she replied , “ Oh , okay . ”
Sherry hurried to Horizonlead Group . Michael called and addressed her as “ Sherry ” instead of “ Mom , ” leaving Christian puzzled . “ Aren’t you his mom ? ” asked Christian ..
“ Nope , I’m still single . ” One of Sherry’s hands was tucked in her white coat pocket . She took it out and waved dismissively as her face flushed .
“ Oh , I see , ” Christian replied .
Sherry continued , “ I’ll take him back now . Sorry for any trouble . ”
Christian was neat – looking and a bit nerdy . He was exactly her type , like a newly
graduated university student with a youthful innocence in his eyes .
Christian noticed that Sherry didn’t have her car , so he suggested , “ Let me give you a
ride back . ”
Sherry looked up and beamed . “ Sure , I won’t say no to
your offer . ”
Christian smiled . He owned a car , a Toyota that cost about 65,000 dollars .
Sherry and Michael sat in the back seat . The drive was smooth , and soon , Michael fell asleep with his head on Sherry’s lap .
Sherry started the conversation , “ Uh , my name is Sherry Roth ! What’s your name ? ”
“ I’m Christian Dunn ,” the man introduced himself .
Sherry replied , “ What ? ”
Christian repeated through gritted teeth , “ Christian Dunn . ”

“ Sorry ? ” Sherry asked again .
“ It’s Christian … Dunn , Christian enunciated his words .
Sherry laughed heartily . “ Wow , why did your parents give you such a difficult name ? ” Christian’s name was a real mouthful to her .
Christian massaged his temple and said helplessly , “ Many people tell me that . Even my university friends still have trouble calling my name sometimes , ”
Sherry laughed , covering her mouth as her eyes curved into slits . “ You just graduated from university , didn’t you? ” she asked .
“ I’m 26 years old and just graduated from postgraduate school a year ago , ” replied Christian . Coincidentally , Sherry was also 26 .
Michael was still asleep when they reached Rosary Estates . Sherry covered him with her jacket and carried the child out of the car . Before leaving , she asked Christian for his WhatsApp .
Christian added Sherry as a friend , and as soon as Sherry got home , she messaged him : [ Thank you for sending us home , I’ll call you Christian , okay ? You can call me Sher .
Christian texted : [Don’t worry about it , Sher . ]
Sherry smiled . She hadn’t felt this happy in a long time .
Meanwhile , Michael woke up and rubbed his eyes . Sherry scolded him , reminding h not to run off anymore . Fortunately , Teresa wasn’t back yet . Otherwise , she would have been upset .
Michael pouted . “ I miss Mr. Lime , okay ? Sherry , if I do an ADN test , can Mr. Lime become my dad ? ”
Sherry was taken aback . “ You mean a DNA paternity test , right ? That could technically make Mr. Lynn your dad . But you’re just a child , and no one would perform the test for you . ”
Then , Sherry continued chatting with Christian .
They were the same age , and even more coincidentally , both had graduated from Nareigh University of Finance and Economics .
Sherry also learned that Christian , who came from a small town , had come to Nareigh to carve out a future for himself . Then , he earned Jonathan’s favor , becoming his secretary . He also had a cousin , Keith Dunn , who served as Jonathan’s driver . They were fortunate to be valued by Jonathan . They served Jonathan diligently , and Jonathan treated them well , providing excellent benefits and working conditions . Sherry sent : [ I’m working with Teresa Johnston now . You should know her , right ? ] Christian replied : [ Teresa ? She’s Mr. Lynn’s ex – wife . ]

Sherry wrote : [ Don’t you think it’s a great coincidence ? Do you think they’ll get back. together ? Oh … I hope they do . It would be great if they had more good – looking kids .
Christian replied : [ Haha . The way you said it , someone might think they already have kids . ]
Sherry suddenly realized she had revealed too much . She mused , ‘ Oh no . I can’t betray Teresa’s trust . I can’t tell Christian about Michael ,
She messaged : [ It’s getting late , Christian . We’ve been chatting for four hours . I’m going to shower now . ]
He replied : [ All right , I’m off to take a shower too . ]
Sherry was in a great mood after their chat , humming a cheerful tune .
