Teresa was momentarily stunned . Evelyn held her hand , sincerely apologizing . She admitted to favoring her other daughters and felt the least regret towards Teresa . When making the most money , she gave Teresa plenty of cash and made sure she had the best life possible .

There were so many things she owed Teresa an apology for . Evelyn couldn’t recall all the other apologies at that moment but joked that she would make up for them over time .
Teresa abruptly pulled away from Evelyn , her head bowed . “ I need to use the restroom .” Teresa shut the door and leaned against the sink , and her shoulders shook with silent , uncontrollable sobs .
The running water drowned out her sobs . After what felt like an eternity , Teresa finally stepped out of the bathroom and saw Jonathan .

Evelyn said with a knowing smile , “ I’m sure it was you who reached out to Vaughn . ”
“ It was nothing , really just a small favor . Teresa did most of the work for you . ”
Hearing this , Evelyn looked at Teresa with heartfelt warmth . “ I’m so blessed to have Teresa . ”
Teresa fell silent for a few seconds , then looked at Jonathan and said to Evelyn , “ I’ll walk him out first . There’s something I want to discuss with him in private . ”
“ Alright , you two , go ahead and have a good talk . ” Evelyn lay back down again .
