“ Hey , Teresa , are you putting on a little weight ? ” Benny eyed her belly .
A cold sweat broke out on Teresa’s back , but she kept her cool . “ Really ?
Benny took his time sipping his drink , set the glass down , and let out heading back to Nareigh .”
Teresa went silent instantly .
Miriam and Edward exchanged a look , wondering what that was supposed
Fueled by alcohol, Benny let out a burp . “ Jonathan got drunk a few days ag woman was pregnant with his kid . I’m guessing he meant you . ”

Miriam clicked her tongue and leaned closer to Teresa’s ear . “ Come on . Tell me the truth . Is it real ? Could it be … ”
Teresa stayed calm . It wasn’t that she didn’t want to tell Miriam , but Edward was right there , his ears practically twitching to listen in .
With Benny and Edward acting like a couple of spies , Teresa just laughed at them . “ He’s been gone from Nareigh for ages . We haven’t even seen each other . How could I possibly be pregnant with his kid ? ”
Miriam frowned . “ That doesn’t make sense . Jonathan’s not the type to have another woman . ”
“ We already agreed to start over . If he’s found someone else , so be it . ” Teresa kept her head down , picking at her food with her fork .
Benny sighed . “ Teresa , we’re all friends here . If you really are pregnant , just say it . I promise I’ll keep it a secret . ”
Teresa balled up a napkin and tossed it at Benny . “ You must be drunk . How many times do I have to say it ? I’m not pregnant ! ”
“ Have you ever thought about it ? Jonathan’s running such a big company / If he doesn’t have a kid , all that hard work will just end up in someone else’s hands , ” Benny reminded .
Teresa paused , her hand still holding her fork .
Benny’s gaze grew even more curious as he studied Teresa .
Miriam quickly jumped in to help . “ Jonathan’s only thirty and loaded . He’s got plenty of time to have kids . Come on . Let’s eat . Teresa is treating . Don’t ruin the mood . ”
“ Benny , come on. Let me have a drink with you . ” Edward poured some beer and raised his glass .
Benny grinned . “ Young man , do you know how long it’s been since I had a beer ? Not since college , I think . ”
Miriam rolled her eyes at Benny . “ You talk like you’re ancient . Maybe it’s time you settled down instead of always chasing after girls .”
Benny laughed . “ I’m not that dumb . If I got married early , I’d lose all my freedom . ”
Once Benny left , Edward , totally hammered , collapsed onto the seat in Miriam’s car . Luckily , Miriam was sober and could drive .
With no one else around , Miriam finally asked /Teresa openly , “ Alright , spill . Are you actually pregnant or not ? ”
“ No , ” Teresa answered , but she didn’t sound too sure .
“ Oh , come on . Don’t tell me you really are … pregnant again ? ” Miriam asked .

Hearing those last words , Edward suddenly snapped awake , shot up like a spring , and blurted out , “ Pregnant ? Wait , Am I gonna be a daus
Miriam shoved him back down . “ Go to sleep . You can dream about whatever you want . ”
Edward flopped right back down , out cold .
Miriam pressed Teresa again , “ Come on . Just tell me . Are you pregnant or not ? ”
“ No , ” Teresa repeated . It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Miriam , but with Edward right there , it wasn’t the right time .
“ Benny was totally fishing for info tonight . If you really were pregnant , you know he’d run straight to Jonathan the second he found out , ” Miriam said ,
“ I know . That’s why I ignored him ,” Miriam explained .
Miriam sighed . “ Still , Benny’s got a point . Jonathan worked so hard to build up Horizonlead Group , but if he doesn’t even have an heir , that’s just sad .
