“ What’s wrong with Dad ? ” Donald said helplessly . “ Mom , didn’t we already put that last medical report behind us ? ”
Cathy said , “ I just know he is not himself . I told him to buy Cheryl a car because Cheryl is learning with the dealership and found he never even placed an order .

Donald fell abruptly silent .
Cathy added , “ He said he’s going to Shaville for Liam’s birthday . Liam is his old classmate , but his birthday isn’t until winter . There are still months away . He thinks my memory is failing , but I’m not senile yet . ”
Hearing this , Donald fell silent again . Finally , he said , “ Mom , you stay at home , and I’ll handle this instead . I’m off tomorrow . I’ll follow Dad and find out what he’s really up to for you . ”
“ Alright . ” Cathy felt relieved with Donald handling things . After all , she wasn’t familiar with Shaville and might get lost .
After Donald hung up , his brow furrowed with concern .
Teresa didn’t take a shower until Michael had fallen asleep again .
Michael adored the necklace . He had fiddled with it until he fell asleep , and it ended up resting on his forehead .
After Teresa finished her shower and was about to take the necklace off Michael , her phone rang .
Teresa saw the caller ID and picked up the call .
Jonathan asked , “ Has everything been delivered ? Did you get the flowers ? ”
Hearing Teresa’s positive answer , Jonathan continued , “ What about , the necklace ? ”
Teresa said playfully , “ It’s on a puppy’s head right now . ”
Jonathan chuckled softly . “ What ? ”
Teresa , at a rare playful moment , teased , “ Didn’t you suggest I hang it on a dog’s neck if I didn’t wear it ? Well , a little puppy snatched it away . ”
Jonathan played along and said , “ Really ? Which puppy are you talking about ? ”
Teresa teased , “ A little pup . ”
Jonathan asked , “ Is he younger than me ? ”
“ He’s ten times younger than you , ” Teresa replied .
Hearing this , Jonathan chuckled softly again , taking her words as nothing more than playful banter .
Jonathan pretended to be stern and said , “ Then I’ll have to call the police . After all , that necklace is worth more than 250 thousand dollars . We’ll have to arrest that puppy . ”
Teresa cleared her throat and said , “ It’s getting late . If that’s all , I’ll hang up now . ”

“ Hold on . Are you free to have a meal with me tomorrow ? ” asked Jonathan .
Teresa answered , “ I need to go to meet Jennifer tomorrow . I’ve got something to deal with her , on i won’t have time
With that , Teresa hung up the phone .
In Shaville , after Werner checked into his hotel , Liam called to invite him out for dinner .
Over dinner , Liam asked , “ Did Cathy suspect anything about that fake medical report you had me do last time ? ”
Werner sighed and said , “ Cathy is not the suspicious type , so of course she didn’t suspect a thing ”
Liam said , “ Then it’s settled . Don’t worry . I didn’t tell a soul about that medical report . It stays strictly between you and me . ”
Werner pressed his lips together and stayed silent .
Seeing Werner putting on a straight face , Liam teased him , “ You got a taste of that thrill last time , didn’t you ? How about another round today ? We can’t let this trip go to waste . ”
Werner waved his hand . “ Last time , I just had too much to drink and made that stupid mistake . There goes my spotless reputation . ”
