Sanford said , “ I think we need to check the hospital’s surveillance footage . What do you say , Mr. Lynn ? ” Jonathan fixed his gaze on Sanford
Sanford fixed his gaze on Jonathan’s unfathomable eyes , a mocking smirk playing on his lips . “ What , scared ? ” he taunted . “ if frene really did something to my mom , you won’t get away scot – free either . ”
Jonathan remained composed , his chiseled features betraying no emotion . “ If you want to get to the bottom of this , ” he said coolly , “ I have no objections . ”
Sanford nodded . “ Alright then , let’s go check the hospital’s surveillance footage and see what exactly Liora and Irene talked about . ”
Jonathan glanced at his watch and said , “ It’s too late now . I’ll meet you at the hospital at 7 tomorrow morning ” Sanford agreed .
In the hotel room , Hayden barked at Werner , “ Stand there ! ”
Werner raised a hand . “ Dad , I swear , I didn’t cheat on Cathy . ”
Cathy gritted her teeth . “ Oh yeah ? Can you swear you never paid for sex either ? ”
Werner shot her a glare and snapped , “ Can you just shut up ! ”
Hayden slammed his heavy cane directly into Werner’s leg . Hayden bellowed at Werner , “ At your age , how could you be so shameless ? ”
Werner sighed heavily . “ Dad , I have my reasons . I swear , I never meant for any of this to happen .”
Hayden demanded angrily , “ Cathy says you ran off with her money / What the hell is going on ? ”
Werner fell silent . Under Hayden’s threatening glare , he finally caved . Avoiding eye contact , he muttered , “ Just lent it to a friend . They’ll pay me back
soon . ”
Hayden bellowed , “ Still lying to me ? Do I have to … ” Hayden was in mid – sentence when Werner’s phone suddenly rang .
His expression shifted the moment he saw the caller ID . Cathy’s sharp eyes caught a string of numbers flashing on the screen , and her woman’s intuition screamed at her that this had to be the mistress calling .
Cathy snapped , “ Answer the phone , right now ! ”
“ Let me take this outside , ” Werner said hurriedly , heading for the door .
As Werner tried to slip away cautiously , Cathy pressed him relentlessly . Their argument escalated , and in the struggle , the phone landed squarely in her hand . Ignoring the fury in Werner’s eyes , she brazenly hit the answer button .
“ Hello … ” came a weak , faltering voice from the other end .
Cathy frowned . ‘ I feel like I’ve heard that voice somewhere before ,’ she thought . Before she could react , Werner had already snatched the phone from her
hand .

Werner stormed out , phone pressed to his ear , and slammed the door shut , the moment he heard the voice on the other and the pape and he hurried away .
Early that morning , in the hospital’s security office , Jonathan and Sanford were reviewing the surveillance footage from Liora’s room .
Just as they were watching the surveillance footage , Irene entered the room and came to a stop right in front of Liora . The screen abruptly went Bla with a sharp click .
Sanford gasped in shock , whipping his head around to see Werner , who had suddenly appeared and killed the computer’s power . Jonathan , however , remained unperturbed , He fixed his gaze on Werner and called out , “ Werner . ”
Werner didn’t spare Jonathan a glance . He quickly turned to Sanford and blurted , “ Your mom sent me . She wants you to go back right now ! ” Sanford was no fool . He grabbed Werner by the collar and demanded , “ What’s really going on between you and my mom ? ”
Werner snapped , “ What the hell are you talking about ? ”
