Jonathan raised an eyebrow . “ Mike ? ” “ Why did he suddenly bring up Mike out of nowhere ? ‘ he wondered .
However , Christian did not say anything else . He left behind these words that made him feel a huge sense of relief . “ Mike isn’t my son ! ” The weight in his heart was finally gone , and then he turned and left .
Jonathan found Christian’s words confusing and mused , ‘ If he is not Mike’s father ,
then who is ?
‘ Didn’t the DNA test state it clearly ? Is he planning to go home to take care of his father and ignore Mike ? Why does he always stop halfway through his sentences ? What’s
his deal ?’
Jonathan went downstairs . He happened to see Keith , his driver .
Keith said , “ Mr. Lynn , you came at just the right time . I was just about to head upstairs and ask for leave ! My uncle has been diagnosed with cancer , and I need a few days off to go back . Christian and I have already bought plane tickets . ”
Jonathan nodded . He allowed employees who needed to visit their families to take time off . “ Where are Christian’s girlfriend and child ? ”
“ Child ? ” Keith shook his head . “ What child , Mr. Lynn ? Christian never told me he had a child , and I’ve never seen one . But I have met his girlfriend once . I’m not sure if she’s coming this time . ”
Jonathan did not ask any more questions as Keith looked clueless , so asking further would be pointless .
Christian felt much more at ease now .
Christian told Jonathan Michael was not his son . As for who it was , if Jonathan wanted to know , he could find out himself . This way , he would not wrong Jonathan or Teresa , and he could face them without guilt .
With that , he could
go home and take care of his sick father without any worry .
At the airport , Christian and Keith were about to board when suddenly , a hand grabbed the former tightly .
Christian paused momentarily , turning to see Sherry wearing a baseball cap and smiling at him while holding a suitcase . “ Sherry , why are you- ”
Sherry explained , “ Your dad isn’t feeling well . He must be having a hard time . I’m worried you can’t handle it alone , so I’m coming with you . ”
“ But your job- ” he added .
She stated , “ It’s fine . I’ve asked Teresa for leave ! She approved it and said I can come back whenever I want ! ”

Christian was deeply moved and mused , ‘ How did I get such a wonderful girlfriend ? ” Ignoring Keith , he pulled Sherry into a tight embrace .
Keith smiled , clapping his hands . “ Christian , Sherry is really great . It would be wrong not to give her a title ! ”
Christian nodded , squeezing Sherry’s hand , and said happily , “ I will when we get back . ” “ Okay .” Sherry snuggled into Christian’s arms .
Once they were on the plane , Keith finally mentioned to Christian that Jonathan had inquired about the child .
Christian sighed . “ It’s nothing . Keith , stop asking . ”
Keith nodded and did not ask further .
Jonathan knew where Christian lived . After work , he drove over there by himself , but the door was closed .
He thought , ‘ Is Christian not home ? Have he and his family returned to their hometown ? ” For some reason , Jonathan felt a slight ache in his heart . It might be because Michael was so cute and still so young . After Christian went back to take care of his father , he would definitely be unable to look after Michael .
He thought , ‘ What if Mike gets hungry or gets cold ? Does Christian’s hometown even have heating ? ”
For the first time , Jonathan worried so much about someone other than Teresa . However , Michael was not his son . The DNA test – one from Christian and another from Cheryl – both proved that Michael was not his son .
Jonathan called Christian , but the phone was turned off . The same went for Keith . He reckoned they had already boarded the plane .
He wrote : [ Christian , did you take Mike back with you ? If not , I can take care of him . ] -After sending the message , Jonathan put down his phone .
He was definitely one of a kind – a boss helping his secretary take care of a child .
The sky had turned dark . Jonathan arrived at his residential area when he finally got a reply from Christian . It read : [ He’s with the person you’re most familiar with . ]
Jonathan saw the message and suddenly laughed . It was the person he knew best that even if she changed her name and went somewhere else , he would still be able to
recognize her.
Jonathan did not drive into the garage . Instead , he turned the car around and headed to Teresouth Group . He swore it was not because he was curious about how she had been doing these past few days . He just wanted to check if Michael was with her .
Teresa did not leave work until six o’clock in the evening because she was still dealing

with some company issues . She kept trying to find solutions and could hold out until the beginning of next month . Otherwise , it would affect next month’s payroll .
On her drive home , she was still thinking about the problem . She stopped by the bank , but it was already closed .
Jonathan was on the other side of the road when he saw her heading to the bank . He knew she was considering taking out a loan .
He thought , “ Would she rather go to the bank for a loan and pay interest than call me ? I would waive interest and give her the money for free ! All she has to do is accept it .’
Seeing the bank was closed , Teresa drove off, passing by a mall , and stopped again .
