The woman beside Teresa grabbed her arm and started gossiping , “ What happened ? Simona tailed someone and sneaked into that person’s house to take pictures ? ”
Teresa shrugged . “ She was lucky that they didn’t charge her with trespassing .”
When Benny told her about it earlier that day , she was upset that Jonathan had been so careless that he even left the door open when he slept .
The party organizer was related to the Larkin family and invited Teresa . When Simonal took out her phone to add her on WhatsApp , she immediately knew what Simona was up to .
Unfortunately , Teresa would never resign herself to adversity . Although she had no reason to be upset about Jonathan getting involved with other women , she would make Simona face severe repercussions if the latter wanted to cause trouble . Teresa attended the party elegantly and left . A gust of wind blew as she stepped outside . She already felt her cheeks burn during the party earlier , and the heat and cold made her feel like she was catching a cold .
After sneezing a few times , Teresa decided to get some medicine as a precautionary measure and pulled up at Portstrie Street . A woman happened to walk out of a nearby bakery and met her gaze . Wearing a mask , the woman approached her with a smile . Teresa was confused until the woman introduced herself as Jennifer Nelson from Nareigh Maternal and Child Health Hospital .
“ It’s you , Dr. Nelson . Sorry , I couldn’t recognize you without your white coat . ” Teresal didn’t know what Jennifer looked like , as the latter usually wore a mask and a white coat in the hospital .
With her hands in her pockets , Jennifer asked Teresa if she was there to buy medicine . “ Yeah . I’ve got a cold . I thought I’d better prepare the medicine just in case , ” Teresa said .
“ The flu’s been pretty bad lately . Let me help you with that . I know some standby medicines and can tell you about them , ” Jennifer offered .
Teresa thought Jennifer was nice .
Jennifer recommended some affordable and a few patent medicines to Teresa , patiently explaining how to use them for different symptoms . Teresa thanked her for that .
Jennifer took a deep breath before saying , “ You’re welcome . By the way , I still don’t know your name . ”

‘ I’m Teresa Johnston , Teresa introduced herself .
“ Teresa … What a nice name . ” A hint of emotion , which eventually became gentle ,
flashed across Jennifer’s eyes .
“ My name’s pretty easy to remember , right ? ” Teresa smiled . After paying the bill , she asked where Jennifer lived and offered to drive her .
“ I live near Golden Residence . It’s fine if it’s not on your way . I came here to buy a cake , as my membership card is about to expire , ” Jennifer said .
“ Is Golden Residence the one next to Begonia Estates ? It’s right along my way , ” Teresa replied .
Jennifer got into Teresa’s Porsche and asked if things were going well for her .
“ Not bad , ” Teresa answered as she started the car engine .
“ Begonia Estates is an old residential area . Why do you live there ? ” Jennifer was
curious .
“ My friend lives there , and I’m staying with her , Teresa answered .
“ Your cousin – in – law mentioned you’re a single mom last time , so do you and your child stay at your friend’s place ? ” Jennifer asked .
“ Yeah . Most of my time is spent working , and my friend helps to look after my child , ” Teresa answered .
Jennifer frowned and wondered , “ How did she muddle along ? She doesn’t own a house and stays with her kid at a friend’s place , yet she’s driving such an expensive car . ‘
She advised , “ Don’t let your ego take control of your life . What car you drive doesn’t matter – it’s just a means to get around .
“ It’s better for a girl to own a house . Its appreciation in value is better than a car . Cars are consumable goods , and luxury cars burn even more money . Getting a house is much better . ”
After Jennifer finished speaking , Teresa flashed her a smile . “ Dr. Nelson , you’re quite talkative . ”
Only then did Jennifer realize she had spoken too much . She smiled awkwardly . “ It’s because of my profession , I suppose . By the way , you’re raising a child on your own and living with a friend . Don’t you have any family ? ”
