The sky was bright when Teresa opened her eyes . She moved her sore body and found herself leaning against a warm chest . She turned around and saw streaks of sunlight shining down on Jonathan’s handsome face . The bright sun made him squint , so he pulled up the blanket to cover his face .
Teresa gasped , rubbing her aching forehead . She vaguely remembered the previous night when she drank a lot at the company’s product launch event . She drank because Jonathan was by her side , so she instinctively trusted that he wouldn ‘ t abandon her even if she got drunk .
However , Teresa wondered how she ended up in bed with Jonathan . Fragments of memory flooded her mind . Suddenly recalling something , she looked down at the clothes scattered across the floor and noticed an unopened condom on the table
Teresa felt a ring in her head as she recalled , “ Jonathan … we … have a … baby ‘
In the intimate atmosphere , Teresa couldn’t help but blurt out the secret . After saying that , she sensed that the man behind her had paused and placed the condom on the table .
“ He didn’t use protection last night! ‘ Teresa realized .
Teresa started dressing immediately . Her rushed movements woke Jonathan up , and he saw her pale face with a hint of panic . He instinctively reached for her hand and called out in a daze , “ Honey . ”
Having only woken up , Jonathan’s voice was slightly hoarse . However , his casual “ Honey ” stung Teresa . She shook off his hand and turned to him with resentment . She said , “ I’m not your wife anymore . Why didn’t you use protection last night ? ”
Jonathan’s brows furrowed as he came to his senses . Then , he sat up and replied , “ I forgot . ”
“ Forgot ? Why didn’t you forget last time ? You knew I had been drinking last night ! ” shouted Teresa .
Jonathan also started getting dressed and explained , “ I drank , too , but I was a bit more sober . I remember you told me “ Let’s have a baby , so I went along with it . ”
Teresa pressed her lips together . She knew better than anyone what she had said , whether it was “ Let’s have a baby ,” or ” We have a baby . ” However , she could only pretend that she was clueless and played dumb . “ I never said that , ” she said .
“ I remember you did . I’m pretty sure ,” said Jonathan .
“ I didn’t . You must’ve misheard ? Teresa responded .
Jonathan pressed his lips together and stared at the frustrated Teresa . Both of them were fully dressed then . What happened last night had already happened . Compared to the time when Teresa was drugged , the current situation was
much more serious .
After all , Jonathan was sober when they slept together last time , so he made sure not to get Teresa pregnant . However , they were both drunk the previous night , not to mention Jonathan distinctly remembered hearing Teresa telling him in a tearful voice , “ Jonathan , let’s have a baby . ”
Jonathan was already 30 years old . Moreover , the person lying under him the previous night was the one he could never move on from . Thus , at that moment , he put aside the condom he had taken out of the drawer and pulled Teresa into his
arms
“ Since it’s already happened , I can’t just ignore it . I also remember saying to you last night to marry me again , ” said
Jonathan .
“ I won’t remarry you , Teresa replied as she tied her coat’s belt . Then , she casually put up her hair and looked at Jonathan . I can’t act like last night didn’t happen . It hasn’t been 24 hours yet . I’ll go get contraceptive pills from the pharmacy , ” she continued
Jonathan grabbed Teresa’s arm and asked , “ Why not take a chance ? If you get pregnant , I’ll take responsibility for you and
the baby ”
Expressionless , Teresa shook off Jonathan’s hand and said , “ I won’t take that chance . ”
