When Donald woke up , Jennifer was snuggled in his arms , and he rolled on top of her again . Since neither of them had work that day , they could afford to sleep a little longer Jennifer felt dizzy with happiness . She thought , ‘ One true love for a lifetime might have been a thing in ancient times , but in today’s fast – paced world , having a place to live , a car , and a man you love is more than enough . ‘
After their morning cuddles , they got dressed . Jennifer asked Donald , “ Did you ever pay Jonathan back for that favor ? ”
“ I sent him a gift , but I’m not sure if he accepted it . If he didn’t , I’ll just take him out for dinner next time he’s free , ” Donald replied .
“ Alright then , ” Jennifer said , not sure what else to add . Suddenly , something occurred to her . “ Wait , you didn’t ask Jonathan for the down payment money , did you ? ”
“ No. It was really my own money . I wouldn’t ask him for money to buy a house , ” Donald assured her .
Seeing that , Jennifer didn’t press further . She told Donald , “ The loan is in my name , so I ‘ Il pay it off myself . I can’t keep spending your money . ”
Jennifer planned to keep the Chesburg apartment for Teresa and herself . It was her way of showing love to her sister . She wondered , ‘ I love Teresa deeply . Maybe when she comes back to Nareigh , she’ll finally understand how much I care about her . ‘
Jennifer decided to go check out the apartment in Chesburg , and Donald drove her there . On the way , Donald got a bank transfer from Werner , together with messages .
Werner : [ Your mom told me about it . She gave you 150 thousand so you can buy a car and have some money for dating . ]
Werner : [ You know how your mom is – she hates spending money . These days , 150 thousand isn’t much for dating . I’ll give you another 100 thousand . If you need more , just ask me , not your mom . ]
The money landed straight in Donald’s account, and his balance instantly went up by another 100 thousand . [ Dad , that’s enough , ] Donald replied .
Werner : [ If it’s not enough , just let me know . No need to be shy with your father . ]
[ Thanks , Dad . Got it , ] Donald texted back , then put his phone away and focused all his attention on Jennifer as he kept driving .
He went with Jennifer to check out the Chesburg apartment . It was still just a bare shell . Jennifer planned to wait for Teresa to come back so they could decorate it together .

Jennifer thought she must be crazy , getting so attached to Donald . If they ever broke up , she didn’t know who would be the one crying – her or Donald .
He used to be the one chasing after her , but now she found herself relying on him . He was her rock , her one and only .
As they left Chesburg , Donald comforted her , saying , “ Don’t be embarrassed . It’s totally normal for couples to get close . Besides , you’ve been holding back for over twenty years . With me , you don’t have to . ”
Donald kissed her fingers . “ A guy only acts like this with the woman he really loves . ”

In Everport , after Teresa had caught up on sleep and had a good meal , the more she thought back to that night at the hotel , the more uneasy she felt .
She ended up going to the hospital for a checkup , and only when the doctor told her the baby was fine did she finally breathe a sigh of relief .
The doctor said , “ I remember you . You were just here for a checkup a few days ago , weren’t you ? ”
Teresa’s cheeks turned red . “ Well , my husband just got back , and we spent the night together . I was just worried about the baby’s safety , that’s all . ”
The doctor’s expression grew serious . “ The embryo’s still not stable . You need to hold off for at least another month .
