Werner had come to apologize to Irene . He told Irene that it was Liora who asked him for help . She said she was giving up on Yorick and leaving , por just wanted to see him one last time .
Werner explained , “ Irene , I swear I didn’t know yesterday was your birthday . And I never imagined Liora would go that crazy Ugh , what a deader
Irene told Werner , “ Yorick didn’t come home all night last night . ”
Werner exclaimed , “ What ? Yorick’s always been such an upright guy . How could he possibly stay out all night ? ”
Irene said , “ We had a fight , so he told me he was going to sleep at his factory .”
“ What ? ” Werner exclaimed . “ I just got back from his factory . It was locked up . Could it be … ”
Irene pressed Werner , “ What could it be ? ”
Werner sighed before finally saying , “ Could it be that Yorick spent last night with Liora ?
“ Actually , I did see Liora’s car parked outside that hotel . Could it be they were together last night ? Ah , never mind , Irene , don’t overthink it . Just pretendi didn’t say anything . ”
There was no way Irene could just let it go . Irene shoved Werner aside and stormed out to find Yorick . Sure enough , the factory was still closed . When
Irene asked the security guard at the gate , he told her no one was inside .
Just as Irene was about to head to the hotel , she spotted Yorick accompanying his father , Hayden , as they emerged from a restaurant , accompanied by a man she didn’t recognize .
Yorick looked at Irene in surprise . “ What are you doing here ? ” he asked . Irene replied flatly , “ Just heading to work . ”
Hayden turned to the man and , giving Irene some face , said , “ This is Yorick’s wife . ”
The man greeted Irene . She thought his face looked familiar , but it wasn’t until he introduced himself that Irene realized he was none other than the chairman of Onlyora Group and a former classmate of Hayden’s . It was none other than Liora’s father .
Irene was utterly shattered . She kept her composure in front of Hayden , but once home , Irene finally confronted Yorick . “ Where were you last night ? Were you with Liora ? ”
“ Yesterday , I went back to the factory but found it closed . I crashed at a motel . Early this morning , my dad called and asked me to go with him to meet a friend . I had no idea his friend was the chairman of Onlyora Group . ”
“ Do you really think I’d believe that ? ” Irene fiercely pounded Yorick’s shoulders . “ If you want a divorce , just say it outright . I know your father despises me . If you want to throw yourself into Liora’s arms , just admit it . “ `
Yorick sighed , “ Why must you always be so impulsive ? If you won’t believe me , fine . I’m going to work now . ” He turned away abruptly .
With Yorick gone , Irene was left alone at home . Ever since giving birth to Jonathan , Irene hasn’t been herself . Liora’s sudden appearance pushed her completely over the edge .
Irene’s mind kept replaying Werner’s words , along with the scene she saw today – Hayden laughing and chatting with Liora’s father , while Yorick stood quietly by their side . All of it kept swirling in her mind .
Irene couldn’t help but notice that the way Liora’s father looked at Yorick was exactly how a father would look at his chosen son – in – law .
Liora looked Irene straight in the eye and said , “ Irene , Yorick is mine now . Just admit defeat and let us be together . ”
Yorick held Liora’s waist , staring coldly at jrene . “ I’ve fallen in love with Liora . Let’s get a divorce . I don’t want the kid . Jonathan is yours to raise alone

Irene shrieked , “ No. How could you do this to Jonathan and me ? ”
Yorick said
I coldly ,
“ Face it , Irene .
Liora outshines you in every way .
