Teresa still insisted , “ Don’t bother , really
Jonathan clutched his lower left side , where his stomach hadn’t hurt long ago. “ You got me so worked up . Now my stomach is acting up again ”
“ Then maybe just don’t get so mad , ” Teresa shot back .
Jonathan got back on topic . “ Teresouth Group is mainly engaged in women’s products , so there aren’t many companies you can partner with if you don’t tell me , I’ll just look it up myself . Don’t say I’m invading your privacy . ”
Teresa went quiet for a few seconds .
After Teresa told him about the company , Jonathan immediately know who it was . He’d crossed paths with the guy before , so he called . “ Mr. Fracer , it’s Jonathan . If you’re free today , let’s talk about that project you mentioned the other day . ”
“ I’m at the hospital . It’s gastroenteritis , nothing serious . My girlfriend is here taking care of me , ” Jonathan said casually
After a few quick words , Jonathan hung up .
Teresa glanced around . “ So , where’s
‘ s your girlfriend ? ”
Jonathan raised an eyebrow , “ Are y you really that clueless , or just pretending ?
Teresa pointed at her own face . “ I’m your co – wife . Won’t he recognize me ? ”
“ He knows I was married , but he’s never actually met you , ” said Jonathan .
Teresa was left speechless .
It wasn’t long before the chairman of Frazier Group arrived . It was the one who’d planned to work with Teresouth Group . But after being stood up , he
wasn’t so sure about the partnership anymore .
“ Mr. Lynn , how did you end up sick ? ” Steve Frazier came in loaded down with bags , flowers in one hand , his secretary trailing behind with a fruit basket and all sorts of fancy health supplements .
Jonathan started to get out of bed , but Steve quickly stopped him . Mr. Lynn , you should really stay put . Don’t mess up your stitches . ”
“ Thank you for thinking of me , Mr. Frazier , have my girlfriend make you some coffee , ” Jonathan said .
Just then , Teresa stepped out of the side room , carrying a tray of freshly brewed coffee . Steve caught sight of her and froze for a second , surprised.
Jonathan introduced her , “ This is my girlfriend , Teresa Johnston . ”
Steve’s eyes widened “ Wait . Isn’t this the boss of Teresouth Group ? We were supposed to work with Teresouth Group , but there was a little hiccup along
the way
Teresa gave a polite apology . “ I’m really sorry , Mr. Frazier . I stood you up today and was late for our meeting . I truly apologize . ”
“ Teresa was up all night taking care of me . That’s why she was late . If you want to blame someone , Mr. Frazier , just blame me , Jonathan added .
“ Oh , Mr. Lynn , you’re being too serious , ” Steve replied quickly .
Steve wouldn’t dare blame Jonathan . He glanced at Teresa again and saw the tender look in Jonathan’s eyes whenever he looked at her Steve smiled “ It’s an honor to work with Teresouth Group , ‘ ll have my secretary bring over the contract right away ”
Teresa nodded . “ Don’t worry , Mr. Frazier , Teresouth Group won’t let you down .”

Steve chuckled , “ You’re Mr. Lynn’s girlfriend , I trust you completely . ”
Teresa didn’t say anything else , but a flicker of disappointment flashed in her eyes .
if she was still basking in the perks of being his wife , she’d be happy no matter what . But Jonathan wasn’t her husband anymore . Now , her en bet helping her , and she still ended up relying on his influence .
Before leaving , Steve shook Jonathan’s hand . “ Mr. Lynn , Ms. Johnston is so much more poised and sensible than your ex wife
Teresa froze .
“ Oh ? ” Jonathan’s interest was piqued . “ You’ve met my ex wife ? ”
Steve chuckled , “ Not really . I’m just guessing . You’re such a powerful figure . Your ex wife must’ve been blind to divorce you ”
Standing off to the side , Teresa couldn’t even fake a thugh . She could only manage an awkward but polite smile .
