Cathy proudly explained , “ Jennifer wanted a grand proposal ceremony , and Donald remembered . He’s been preparing for a long time flowers , balloons , candles , and a camera crew to capture everything . He’s thought of everything . ”
Evelyn adjusted her shawl . “ Then let’s go and see it . ”
At the venue , Donald arrived and started getting things ready . Jennifer was still in the dark , unaware of the proposal that was about to happen .
Soon after , Evelyn and Cathy arrived together , and Donald hurried over to greet them . “ Ms. Davis , please have a seat . By the way , where’s Isabel ? ”
“ I’ve asked a friend to look after her . Your preparations here are quite grand , ” Evelyn said , looking around .
The ground was covered with flower petals , and candles were arranged in a heart shape . The large venue had a screen in the center , displaying a photo of Donald and Jennifer .
Seeing Jennifer’s slightly upturned lips in the photo , Evelyn felt , at that moment , that living with a man who knew her well in the future was quite a good thing .
“ By the way , Ms. Davis , didn’t Teresa come with you ? ” he asked .
Mentioning Teresa made Evelyn feel a lump in her chest . “ She’s sulking at me . I have no idea why she didn’t come . Do you have her number ? Give her a call and ask her to come over . ”
“ Sure , I’ll call Teresa . ” But Donald couldn’t get through to Teresa’s phone .
Teresa was having dinner with Benny , as promised , since she had an empty schedule today and invited him to Nareigh for a meal .
Benny received the call from Donald , and after hanging up , he said to Teresa , “ Donald’s proposing today ?? He wants you to be there to witness it .
“ He called me instead and said to come over and join the fun . He also asked me to let you know . ”
Teresa put down her fork .
“ Let’s go , ” Benny said . “ I’ll drive you . We can go together and join the celebration . I wonder if Jonathan can make it . Should I give him a call , and we can all go in one car ? ”
“ No , you guys go ahead . I’m not going . ” Teresa shook her head .
“ Come on . Don’t do that . I won’t call him . You should at least show up , right ? I know you don’t like Jennifer , but she is your sister . Just make an appearance , ” he persuaded .
Teresa didn’t say anything .
The proposal was set for five in the afternoon .
By a little after four , the onlookers who had come to witness the happy moment started to gather , along with some colleagues from the hospital who stood in two rows , ready to hand Jennifer roses as she arrived .
At the end of the long red carpet , Donald stood holding the ring , feeling a bit nervous . He glanced at his watch ; it was almost five , and he was about to send his friend to pick Jennifer up from work .
Suddenly , there was a stir in the front of the crowd .
“ Oh my gosh , what a handsome man . ”
“ It looks like Mr. Lynn from Horizonlead Group . ”

“ Wow , no wonder he’s the CEO . He’s so charismatic . I love this kind of guy . ”
The girls holding roses were almost tempted to give their roses to Jonathan instead .
It wasn’t until Jonathan reached Donald’s side that Donald said with a sigh , “ Jonathan , you’re stealing my thunder . ”
Jonathan looked innocent as he glanced down at himself . “ I even wore an inconspicuous outfit today .”
Donald gazed at Jonathan , who was dressed in a simple shirt , and said , “ You’re good – looking no matter what you wear . You’re definitely the handsomest man in our family . ”
“ Where’s Cheryl ? Didn’t she come ? ” Jonathan asked .
“ Don’t mention her . Maybe she’s in a relationship and can’t make it back , ” Donald sighed .
“ Got it , ” Jonathan said , scanning the area and noticing Cathy and Evelyn sitting far away , talking . There seemed to be a hint of doubt and disappointment in his eyes .
Then Donald added , “ I did call Teresa , but she might not show up . ”
