Right now , all she wanted was to break down and cry , to let out all the pain bottled up inside .
Jonathan gently wiped away her tears . “ Come on ; don’t cry . Eat something first , okay ? I sometimes . ”
I get it . Pregnant women’s emotions are all over the place
“ I’ll calm down as soon as you leave . I really don’t want to see you right now , ” Teresa said .
“ Even if you don’t want to see me , I’m not going anywhere . I’m the father of both your kids , ” Jonathan replied ,
Teresa thought back to all the hardships she’d gone through because of the pregnancy and said with a heavy sigh , “ I regret it . I wish I’d taken contraceptive pills back then . I really should have . ”
“ What did you just say ? ” Jonathan’s tone hardened . “ I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that . You’re already pregnant . I can’t just turn a blind eye . I’m not going to let you get rid of the baby , and I’m not going to shirk my responsibility either .
“ What really pisses me off is how you keep hiding things from me . I believed everything you said . You’ve been pregnant for six months , and I was dumb enough to believe you weren’t , to believe you took contraceptive pills . ”
“ Go ahead and sue me if you want . Isn’t that exactly what you’ve been planning ? ” Teresa shot back , her tone just as cold .
“ You want to take this to court , huh ? Well , let me make this clear . Whether it’s Mike or the baby I’m carrying , I’m not giving either of them to your family . ”
She carried her baby for nine months – why should she just hand them over just because he said so ?
Jonathan was so mad he could barely breathe . “ I really don’t get what goes on in your head . When did I ever say I was going to snatch the kids from you ? ”
“ You did . I remember it very clearly , ” Teresa replied .
Jonathan was speechless for a moment . He had said that before . “ But have you ever seen me actually do it ? You can lie to me, but I can’t just say something to get back at you ? ”
“ So you won’t try to take the kids from me anymore ? What about your family , especially your mom ? Does she even know about Mike ? ” Teresa pressed .
Jonathan couldn’t understand why she suddenly brought up his mom . “ If you’re that scared , I’ll take Mike away , then just remarry me . Mike’s already three , and now you’re pregnant with another one of my kids . What do you really want from me ? ”
“ Kids are kids , and remarriage is remarriage . They’re two completely different things . I’m not marrying you again , ” Teresa said , her voice unwavering .
“ Let your mom set you up with someone better than me . I don’t want to gain status just because I have your kids . I don’t care about that kind of so – called honor , and I definitely won’t use the kids to tie you down . ”
“ Fine , just piss me off to death , Teresa , ” Jonathan said through gritted teeth , his face grim as he turned and stormed out , slamming the door behind him .
Finally , Teresa could let herself cry without holding back . Deep down , she never wanted Jonathan to find out she was pregnant at a time like this .
Irene had already hurled harsh words at Teresa . Now , aware of Teresa’s pregnancy , Irene would think Teresa was scheming again . She would believe that Teresa had deliberately gotten pregnant to trap Jonathan and the Lynn family , always playing her manipulative games .
Teresa had already made up her mind not to see Jonathan again except for things about Mike . She didn’t want to get tangled up with anyone an She just wanted to at least live with some dignity .
The door opened again , and Teresa’s tear – filled eyes met Jonathan’s gaze . He frowned , but this time he was the first to back down and said softly , “ I just talked to the doctor . You can be discharged / now . ”
Teresa snapped back to reality , hastily wiping her tears away as she was about to get out of bed and go home by herself .

“ Come on , let’s go home and get you some rest . I’ll make you something good to eat , ” Jonathan said , unable to hold back any longer . He swap ba into his arms , holding her closely .
