Just as Samuel was about to reply, Cherry walked in.

She had overheard Hannah offering to treat him to dinner and immediately snapped, “Absolutely not. My brother is bringing his girlfriend home tonight. Neither of you is going anywhere p>

“What is wrong with you?” Samuel scowled, looking her up and down with disdain. “Who do you think you are? Do we need your permission to eat at home or go out p>

Cherry was about to retort but stopped when she saw Hannah sitting beside him, sipping her tea with an air of elegant composure.

Her grandfather was out dealing with Jason, and her grandmother typically had her meals sent to her room while she prayed. The only time Grandma joined them for dinner was when Hannah and Samuel were present.

If they went out, Grandma wouldn’t come down.

What would happen then, when her brother brought his girlfriend home and no elders were there to greet them?

She was also confused about one thing: without her grandparents’ permission, her parents weren’t allowed to just drop by the main estate.

So why was her brother bringing his girlfriend here, to the main house, instead of their parents’ place?

“I just think,” Cherry said, quickly changing her tune, “that you’ve only just returned home. It seems wrong to always be running off to eat out instead of staying to eat with Grandpa and Grandma. They must be so lonely p>

After speaking, she lowered her eyes, sneaking a glance at Hannah.

Seeing no reaction, her mind raced. “If you go out to eat, you’re being ungrateful!” she declared, pointing an accusatory finger at Hannah.

“Hey! What kind of scheme are you pulling now?” Samuel slammed his hand on the table and stood up. “Cherry, I’m telling you, you’d better watch yourself, or you’ll end up just like Sandra!” Hannah gently tugged on Samuel’s sleeve, signaling for him to sit down.

She set down her teacup, let out a soft chuckle, and nodded. “Well, since you put

it that way, it would be terribly rude of me to leave p>

Samuel looked at her, confused.

Hannah just smiled and shook her head.

Since she had agreed, there was nothing more he could say.

“That’s more like it,” Cherry said, relieved that Hannah was staying.

She shot a haughty look at Samuel. “See? You brainless idiot. You should try learning from Hannah p>

With a triumphant sniff, Cherry turned and walked away, pulling out her phone to make a call.

“It’s obvious Cherry is up to something. Are we really going to play along with her?” Samuel asked, still perplexed.

“If she’s determined to cause trouble, then let her,” Hannah replied calmly.

“I’ll treat you to di dinner another time.

Besides, you said it yourself: if she keeps this up, she’ll be the next Sandra. She saw what happened to Sandra today yet she’s still pushing. I’m quite curious to see what’s so important that she’s willing to risk it p>

Samuel didn’t understand at first, but after hearing Hannah’s

Suddenly, an idea struck Hannah. She gestured for Samuel to lean in and

whispered a few instructions in his ear.

“Okay, I get it. I’ll do it right now!” Samuel gave her an “ok” sign and hurried off to follow her instructions.
