Chapter 701

Hannah had loved him for so many years; she couldn’t possibly be so heartless as to divorce him for good.

If she truly had no feelings left for him, she never would have agreed so readily to

his plan.

She only agreed to the fake divorce because she couldn’t bear to lose him.

He hadn’t had a peaceful night’s sleep in ages, but tonight, for some reason, he slept soundly.

In his dream, he saw himself and Hannah, reconciled and back together. They even had a child.

When he woke up, he sat on the bed, staring blankly at his hands, his fingers clenching at the empty air.

Suddenly, he realized why they had been fighting so much. It was because they didn’t have a child.

If they had a child between them, she would never have argued with him like this. Yes, that’s what was missing. In three years of marriage, they never had a child.

If they could have a baby now, Hannah would surely come back to him.

A bold idea formed in his mind: he had to have a child with Hannah.

Given how much she despised him right now, she would never agree to have his baby willingly.

But that was fine. All he needed to do was get her pregnant.

Once she was pregnant, Hannah would never get rid of the baby. She was too kind-hearted for that. Besides she had always said she loved children and wanted two or three of her own.

He had made so many mistakes back then, ignoring her wishes. Now, it was time to make her dream come true.

With this thought driving him, Lionel got out of bed, changed his clothes, ate a quick cup of noodles, and left for City Hall to sign the divorce agreement with Hannah.

When he arrived and got out of his car, he saw Hannah and Samuel already standing in line by the entrance. The moment Samuel spotted him, he waved his hands excitedly and shouted.

“Get over here! It’s almost your turn! I thought you were lying, but you actually kept

your word. Hurry up, stop dawdling and wasting time, you hear me p>

Lionel’s face darkened as he saw Samuel standing next to Hannah. He didn’t respond, just walked toward them with heavy steps.

“He doesn’t look right, Hannah. Do you think he’s figured something out p>

Samuel whispered worriedly. They were so close. If Lionel discovered the truth and refused to go through with the divorce, all their efforts would be for nothing.

Hannah felt a flicker of anxiety herself as she watched him approach.

What if he had realized there was no such thing as a “fake divorce” and decided to back out now? She had been looking forward to this all night.
