Seeing Lionel’s dumbfounded expression, Mr. Michael Rosenberg sneered. “Can’t you understand plain English? Do you really think we haven’t uncovered anything these past few days?”

Lionel stared at Mr. Michael Rosenberg, falling deep into thought as his brow furrowed even more.

Suddenly, something occurred to him.

“I did cooperate with Cherry before, but that was only because she’s a member of the Temple family and lives with Hannah. It was a way for me to get information about Hannah.”

He wracked his brain but couldn’t figure out what the elder meant. The only thing they could have possibly uncovered was his previous arrangement with Cherry. After all, he hadn’t hidden that fact. Even Quennel could have discovered it with a simple investigation.

“Mr. Michael Rosenberg, you don’t think that just because I worked with Cherry before, I paid off someone close to her to leak the information, do you? You think I used them to tell her so she’d post it online?”

As Lionel spoke, a chill ran down his spine. He shivered as goosebumps broke out on his arms.

“Absolutely not! I stopped contacting Cherry not long after I was hospitalized. You can verify that easily enough.”

Lionel’s expression was one of horrified disbelief as he looked at Mr. Michael Rosenberg.

If Mr. Michael Rosenberg had only found out about his past cooperation and immediately started suspecting him, then he was being framed!

“Mr. Michael Rosenberg, if I really wanted to tell Cherry something, I wouldn’t have needed to find other people to do it indirectly! I always contacted her directly by phone, straight to the point. Never like this!”

“If you don’t believe me, you can check my phone records! Everything I’m saying is the truth!”

Mr. Michael Rosenberg stared at Lionel’s adamant expression and said nothing.

He had just been trying to bluff Lionel, but he hadn’t managed to get anything out of him.

Could it be that this matter really had nothing to do with Lionel?

Was it really Quennel or his mother behind it?

Mr. Michael Rosenberg didn’t say another word. With a grim face, he turned and strode out of the room.

Lionel stood frozen, watching Mr. Michael Rosenberg leave. He wanted to chase after him and say more, but he worried that if he did, he would only make the elder angrier.

The thought sent a jolt of panic through Lionel, and he swallowed hard.

If that was the case, then no matter how much he explained himself, it would be meaningless!

Lionel’s heart pounded in his chest as he prayed that Hannah and Cherry wouldn’t frame him like this.

After leaving, Mr. Michael Rosenberg contacted the other two elders, telling them he had something important to discuss.

A short while later, the other two elders arrived at his home.

“What did you want to say?”

Mr. Michael Rosenberg relayed everything Lionel had said to him today.

After he finished, the other two elders fell silent.
