Cora stood frozen, watching him walk away. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she ran to her room in a fit of pique.

“It’s okay, honey, it’s okay. They’re getting divorced soon,” Lily’s voice soothed from the other end. “Just hold on a little longer. As soon as they’re separated, you do what I told you.
