The thought made Hannah deeply uncomfortable. She felt like Quennel was starting to use her.
He hadn’t been like this before. His ambition was now laid bare.
Ultimately, Quennel and Lionel were the same kind of person. One was just more obvious about it, while the other operated from the shadows.
If Quennel truly cared for her, he wouldn’t be using her like this, just as Lionel had.

Samuel and Cherry watched Hannah, her brow furrowed in thought, and didn’t dare to speak until she finally broke the silence.

“If they press you, just say it’s the Rosenberg family’s business and you don’t want to get involved. You just heard a rumor, that’s all.”
Hannah then laid out everything she had just pieced together, holding nothing back.
As Samuel and Cherry listened to her analysis, their expressions grew grim. They slowly realized they had nearly been played for fools.

Cherry had harbored suspicions about Quennel back when the incident with Sandra happened.
But at the time, Lionel was the more likely suspect. Quennel just didn’t seem like the type to do something like that.
But after Hannah’s analysis today, they were beginning to see that Quennel’s methods might be far more terrifying.
