Chapter 608
After all, they never expected that a failed negotiation would escalate into a physical assault.
Hannah, however, remained remarkably calm. Lionel had deceived them and
wasted their time with so much nonsense; there was no way his crew would have let him leave unscathed.
A fight was inevitable. The only question was, how bad would it be?
Cherry, on the other hand, was practically buzzing with excitement. “A fight! A fight! Let them go at it! I hope they beat him to a pulp. Then he won’t be able to bother you anymore, Hannah. Just let them have at him p>
Samuel watched Cherry, who was clearly enjoying the drama, and couldn’t help but sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“What are you sighing for? Am I wrong? Or do you not want them to fight p>
Cherry turned to glare at Samuel. “Of course they have to fight. Then, Hannah, you can go to the hospital, tear into him, and demand to know why he took matters into his own hands. You can tell him that because of him, you lost your chance to get information about your mother. Yell at him, tell him it’s all his fault p>
The moment Cherry finished, both Samuel and Hannah fell silent. Neither of them had realized she had such a devious plan up her sleeve.
After a few seconds of processing Cherry’s words, Hannah realized she had a brilliant point.
“You’re right. And he probably won’t admit that he got the information from you. Even if he does, you can just deny it until you’re blue in the face p>
Hannah analyzed the situation carefully. “That way, I can still hold him accountable. I can claim he found out about the meeting from some unknown source, went in my place without my permission, and ruined my plan. Perfect, absolutely perfect p>
Samuel, sitting beside them, felt like a complete fool.
He had thought Lionel was already in a miserable enough state after the beating, but he never imagined that Cherry and Hannah had another, even more cunning, trap waiting for him.
Seeing Samuel’s speechless expression, Cherry pointed a finger at his nose. “What’s that look for? You think we’re going too far p>
Before Samuel could even respond, Cherry cut him off. “Get a grip. He’s the one who went too far. What we’re doing to him is a drop in the bucket. This is exactly what he deserves, you get it p>
Samuel immediately waved his
hands, saying excitedly, “That’s not what I meant. I just think he totally deserves it just never thought of taking it a step further like this. It’s completely unexpected. I really need to learn a thing or two from you!” Cóntent
“Of course you do. You should be taking notes, you hear me p>
The recording continued to play, filled with the relentless sounds of a brutal beating that showed no signs of stopping. It was clear the fight on the other end was vicious.
After about ten more minutes, the noise finally died down, and even the men’s voices faded. It seemed to be over.
Once they confirmed the silence, they stopped listening. There was nothing more to hear.
They hadn’t gotten a single piece of information, just an audio recording of a beatdown. It felt like a waste. They had hoped sending Lionel would weld at least some news about her mother, but it turned out he was utterly useless.
“I should have been more specific and told him to get the information about my aunt first before starting anything, Cherry said with a hint of
regret the didn’t get a single clie
before he started throwing O punches p>
