A dead silence descended upon the hospital room. Neither of them spoke, and the only sound was the soft rhythm of their breathing.
“Sandra,” Lionel finally said, breaking the silence. “The fifty million you asked for—I can’t give it to you. And the things Hannah took back from you, I can’t return them either p>

Sandra quickly recounted what Lionel had told her, and they both realized they had been tricked.
