“Hannah didn’t help when Jason was attacking you?” he asked.
Sandra shook her head. “No. Mr. Temple and Samuel were there, too.” She paused, then reached out from under the covers and took Lionel’s hand.
“But it’s understandable. I was the one who asked Mr. Cooper for the videos, so it’s only right that Hannah resents me. Don’t blame her p>
“I don’t blame her p>
Sandra’s fingers trembled. A flicker of disappointment and fear crossed her face.
“You should get some rest. I’ve arranged for a private nurse,” Lionel said, standing up and letting her hand slide from his. “I have things to take care of, so I’m leaving p>
“Okay. Be careful on the road. I can take care of myself p>
As soon as Lionel left, Owen stepped up to her bed and whispered, “Don’t worry,
I’ve completely destroyed the surveillance footage on the USB drive.” He gently patted her hand. Sandra immediately grabbed his hand in return.
“Thank you p>
Owen smiled, withdrew his hand, and left the room.
The moment the door clicked shut, Sandra let out a huge sigh of relief.
That damn Hannah, daring to use such a trick.
But even with that copy destroyed, the master footage still existed at the Temple estate.
If Lionel brought it up again, Hannah could simply produce the original, and her lies would still be exposed.
Annoyed and anxious, Sandra
racked her brain for a solution. She
didn’t know anyone at the Temple estate who could help her. Just a she was feeling helpless, she saw a screenshot on her friend Gloria’s Facebook page.

“Gary,” Sandra murmured, her eyes narrowing. It took her a moment to place him
as Cherry Temple’s older brother, a notorious womanizer. She immediately sent her friend a message.
Gloria had just hung up a video call with Gary when Sandra’s text came through. She frowned in annoyance as she read it.
Ever since the Woods family’s downfall, she had been distancing herself from Sandra. She hadn’t cut her off completely-after all, Sandra still had Lionel in her corner and night make a comeback
Gloria: [Sandra, I’ve only known Gary for a short time. Asking him to take me to
his family home to do something like this for you? That’s a huge ask p>
Sandra: [You know that necklace you said you loved? It’s yours. I know this is a
lot to ask, but my future depends on it. Please p>
Gloria thought about the necklace. It was the one Lionel had given Sandra, incredibly valuable and beautiful. Even with her family’s financial troubles, Sandra hadn’t sold off her best pieces yet. A sly smile spread across Gloria’s face.
Gloria: [Alright, fine. But I’m telling you now, this is going to be extremely difficult
to pull off.] Sandra knew exactly what she was implying.

With the surveillance footage issue settled, Sandra finally felt a wave of relief. Once that video was destroyed, Hannah would be nothing but a cruel villain who stood by and watched her get beaten.
Just as she was savoring this small victory, a notification for a trending news story popped up on her phone.
